The National Registration Department's 'flexible' manners over immigrant's applications for MyKads should be lengthened to genuine Sabahans.
TAMPARULI: Francis Sopoyut, 48, has been creation a headlines of late for a oddest reason. For a past 10 years he has been trying, despite unsuccessfully, to shift his aged Identity Card (IC) to a brand new MyKad. The complaint is with his ride prints. One of a ride prints upon his aged IC does not match a imitation from his ride as well as this has been reason sufficient for a National Registration Department (NRD) to literally put him upon reason for a decade.
Many people are asking how this bizarre anomaly could have cropped up.
Former Tamparuli assemblyman Edward Linggu suspects which when Sopoyut was processing his aged IC during a age of 12, another person's fingerprint could have been someway printed upon his duplicate form by mistake.
Tamparuli falls under a Tuaran parliamentary subdivision as well as Linggu is a divisional chairman of a rising antithesis State Reform Party (STAR).
Said Linggu: "The alternative possibility which Francis' fingerprint may have altered given a last 36 years is not acceptable.
