"Sebahagian besar mahasiswa melihat kepimpinan Datuk Seri Najib membawa perubahan yang diharapkan terutama dengan program seperti ETP, Model Ekonomi Baru dan banyak lagi bakal memberi satu lonjakan kepada negara, keputusan ini satu rangsangan kepada kepimpinan beliau bahawa mahasiswa menyokong usaha-usaha beliau,"ujar beliau.

Menurutnya di UM, kempen bertemakan diplomasi vs demonstrasi berjaya menarik sokongan dari pelajar-pelajar universiti tersebut.

"Ramai yang rasional, mereka melihat bahawa demonstrasi keterlaluan tidak membawa manafaat, bukan kita menolak demonstrasi tetapi kalau benda yang boleh selesai melalui rundingan mengapa hendak berdemo, kenapa hendak berkonfrantasi?" soalnya.

Bagi pelajar tahun akhir Pengajian Sumber Manusia UUM, Ilham Jamil Khir (gambar kanan), kemenangan Aspirasi Mahasiswa juga berkait rapat dengan kejayaan jentera kempen yang tersusun dan penguasaan alam siber.

"Saya melihat tahun ini, kempen melalui twitter, facebook dan blog rancak sekali, bagi kami yang jauh dari Lembah Klang, satu-satunya media penghubung adalah media sosial.

"Ramai mahasiswa menggunakan media sosial, mereka mempunyai akuan twitter, facebook, baca blog jadi apabila is! u-isu te rtentu cuba disensasikan, mahasiswa merujuk kawan-kawan media sosial mereka, dari maklum balas itulah mereka membentuk persepsi samada menyokong atau menolak isu-isu terbabit,"katanya.

Beliau memberikan contoh isu menghapuskan PTPTN yang cuba dibawa oleh mahasiswa pro pembangkang gagal menarik minat majoriti mahasiswa kerana fakta-fakta yang dibentangkan kerajaan dan disebarkan melalui media baru.

"Kami rujuk penjelasan pihak PTPTN, kami baca komen kawan-kawan mengenai isu itu dan membuat kesimpulan, jika PTPTN dihapuskan, peluang sebahagian besar orang muda masuk ke universiti bakal terjejas, kami menolaknya,"ujar beliau.

Sebelum ini sekumpulan belasan orang mahasiswa pro pembangkang berkhemah berhati-hati di Dataran Merdeka kononnya bagi memperjuangkan penghapusan PTPTN yang didakwa membebankan mahasiswa.

Berikutan itu, berbagai langkah telah diambil bagi menjelaskan hakikat sebenar mengenai pinjaman tersebut dan bagaimana pembangkang hanya mempergunakan agen-agen mereka dikalangan mahasiswa bagi tujuan politik semata-mata.

Kejayaan besar Aspirasi Mahasiswa dalam pilihanraya kampus ini bagaimanapun belum mengambil kira keputusan dari Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Malaysia (UIAM) yang terpaksa mengadakan pilihanraya semula berikutan masalah teknikal dengan sistem e-voting mereka.

Aspirasi Mahasiswa menguasai UPM, UUM, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas), Universiti Perguruan Sultan Idris (UPSI); Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP); Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) dan Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia (UPNM).

Di UPM, Aspirasi Mahasiwa yang juga dikenali sebagai Pro-Aspirasi memenangi 39 daripada 47 kerusi yang dipertandingkan sementara Pro-Mahasiswa memperoleh tujuh kerusi.

Calon Pro-Aspirasi turut menyapu bersih sebanyak 34 daripada 36 keruasi di UUM, 18 daripada twenty kerusi di UMT, 22 daripada twenty-four kerusi di UMP dan menang kesemua kerusi di UPNM. !

Di UM, yang merupakan universiti tertua dan sekian lama dikenali sebagai 'lubuk pembangkang' kumpulan Aspirasi Mahasiswa yang menggunakan nama Pengerak Mahasiswa telah memberi tentangan yang sengit kepada pencabar mereka Pro M.

Kejayaan utama Pengerak Mahasiswa UM adalah dengan pertambahan kerusi sebanyak enam menjadikan 19 berbanding 13 dalam pilihanraya kampus tahun lepas.

Kemenangan besar kumpulan mahasiswa yang memperjuangankan suara mahasiswa atau lebih dikenali dengan Aspirasi Mahasiswa menjadi bukti bahawa golongan muda dan terpelajar di negara ini menolak politik konfrantasi yang cuba diperkenalkan oleh pemimpin pembangkang melalui agen-agen mereka di universiti.

Aspirasi Mahasiswa menang di seventeen dari 19 universiti awam seluruh negara, atau dari 567 kerusi yang dipertandingkan, Aspirasi Mahasiswa menguasai 493 kerusi (86.94 peratus) manakala kumpulan pro-Mahasiswa yang sering dikaitkan dengan bulletin pembangkang menguasai 73 kerusi (12.87 peratus) manakala 1.94 peratus lagi calon bebas.

Ini bermakna untuk pilihanraya kampus sesi 2012/2013 Aspirasi Mahasiswa berjaya memenangi majoriti 2/3 dari keseluruhan universiti awam seluruh negara.

Bagi yang mengikuti dengan dekat pilihanraya kampus ini, kemenangan Aspirasi Mahasiswa dalam pemilihan kali ini menjadi bukti politik konfrantasi yang diamalkan oleh mahasiswa pro pembangkang ditolak majoriti pelajar.


Pro M yang hanya menang twenty kerusi berbanding twenty-six tahun lepas manakala dua lagi kerusi dimenangi calon bebas yang dipercayai cenderung menyokong Aspirasi Mahasiswa.

Selain itu, calon-calon Aspirasi Mahasiswa UM juga mewakili berbagai kaum yang mengambarkan kejayaan konsep 1Malaysia di universiti tersebut.

Keputusan lain di Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), Aspirasi Mahasiswa menang keseluruhan 38 kerusi yang dipertandingkan, Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK) menang 10 daripada fourteen kerusi! , Univer siti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) menang 32 daripada 36 kerusi.

Di Universiti Sains Malaysia Aspirasi Mahasiswa menang 37 kerusi, Pro-M menang 7 dari 44 kerusi yang dipertandingkan.

Di UKM, satu lagi lubuk pro-M, mereka menang dengan 19 kerusi berbanding Aspirasi Mahasiswa 10 kerusi. Untuk rekod di UKM, calon Pro-M menang 7 kerusi tanpa bertanding, kerana 'kegagalan' Aspirasi Mahasiswa meletakkan calon.

Khamis lalu, dalam pemilihan di lima buah universiti, Aspirasi Mahasiswa turut mencatat kemenangan besar menewaskan Pro-M.

Lima universiti itu ialah Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA), Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) dan Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM). Aspirasi Mahasiswa menang kesemua kerusi di UiTM (50 kerusi), UniMAP (31), UTeM (28) dan UniSZA (24).
