Tidak cukupkah dengan bersikap dwi-standard dari segi layanan terhadap kaum dalam menguruskan negeri yang ditadbir DAP, apakah DAP ingin menunjukkan bahawa parti itu adalah dwi-standard dalam segala segi?
Mungkin menyedari bahawa sikapnya yang marah-marah telah tidak membantu DAP dan suaminya, hatta dirinya sendiri juga, maka Betty Chew dan Guan Eng akhirnya muncul secara rasmi untuk membersihkan nama mereka. Betty menafikan yang suaminya mempunyai hubungan sulit dan ju! ga menaf ikan yang beliau telah menyerang Phaik Kheng ataupun suaminya.
Namun, sekali lagi Betty tersilap kerana dalam kenyataannya membela dirinya, beliau telah mengaitkan isu peribadi Presiden MCA, Dato Seri Chua Soi Lek berkenaan skandal beliau tidak lama dahulu. Malah, Betty juga mengaitkan nama isteri Dato Seri Chua, iaitu Datin Seri Wong Sek Hin yang langsung tiada jawatan atau kena mengena dengan politik, dengan meminta beliau menasihati Soi Lek agar tidak memanjangkan isu skandal Lim Guan Eng. Lebih lucu lagi, beliau juga meminta Datin Seri Wong menyeru rakyat agar menolak MCA atas alasan skandal Soi Lek itu.
Sebelum menasihati orang lain, Betty harus terlebih dahulu membuat keputusan sama ada skandal peribadi wajar dipolitikkan atau tidak. Kenapakah DAP tidak boleh diserang kerana skandal peribadi tetapi MCA tidak mendapat keistimewaan yang sama?

Beliau tidak melatah dan tidak mengamuk apabila ditanya mengenainya. Sebaliknya, seperti juga suaminya, beliau menunjukkan sikap matang, mengakui seadanya dan melakukan yang terbaik untuk mengatasi dan memperbaiki rumahtangga mereka.
