, MCA plays the racial card
Bersih 3.0?
One of a many important determinant factors as to either a nation is indeed approved or not is a choosing process.
if choosing is not fair, afterwards whatever democracy a power-that-be is talking is just rhetoric.
An astray choosing is similar to a football game where a single side let us call it a home side- has all a advantages: not as big idea post than a alternative side , uneven field where a hostile side needs to attack uphill, a biased arbitrate which would give penalty opposite a hostile side for tiny transgression whereas a home side would go unpunished even for dangerous tackles as well as alternative fouls.
How to win opposite these astray practices? How to win when a single chair has more than 100,000 electorate as well as an additional 5000 only? The a single in a former has usually 1/20th weight-age of a latter. this is just a single of a many things which are built opposite any side hoping to win opposite a Home Side.
So in order to have a 2 celebration system in place, as well as a true democracy in place, a satisfactory choosing routine is of pinnacle importance as well as a single of a inaugural consideration in any demand for change.
The Parliamentary select committee has come out with its twenty-two indicate recommendations. It is an alleviation though essentially still falls reduced of a need to have a purify as well as indeed satisfactory choosing process. They tumble reduced of a demand by Bersih 2.0 which are summarised as:
cleaning of a electoral roll, reforms to postal voting, a use of indelible ink, giveaway as well as satisfactory access to media, a minimum 21-day debate period, a strengthening of public institutions, a stop to domestic corruption, as well as an end to "dirty" politics
Thus you await a call by Bersih to have a third rally upon 28th April 2012.
I hope this time a authority has learned its lessons from Bersih 2.0 as well as would not resort to using rough tactic to relieve a rally.
It would essen! tially b e opposite prolific to use force upon a peaceful gathering asking for satisfactory elections, as been witnessed time as well as again overseas.
If Myanmar is additionally upon a brink of change, you consider it is tall time which you should unequivocally essay for a purify as well as satisfactory election. BN politicians should realise which a purify as well as satisfactory choosing routine would be customer even to BN in a long run, for if it loses a subsequent GE or a subsequent subsequent , a same satisfactory as well as purify rules would request to a alternative side in energy , making it simpler for BN to have a quip after undergoing housecleaning as well as drastic change.
BN should not hope to be in energy forever; no system of administration in a universe has achieved that.

Annulling PTPTN debt will only cost RM25b, says Rafizi
Rafizi pronounced a RM43 billion which Najib had cited was an exaggeration of a actual PTPTN debt burden. File pic
Party strategic executive Rafizi Ramli pronounced a RM43.6 billion figure quoted by a budding apportion represented all approved loans as well as not a real volume disbursed.
This was given not all students whose loan applications were approved actually used a facility, he pointed out.
Dont try to confuse people... The budding apportion was clearly [misleading] when he pronounced RM43.6 billion, he pronounced during a forum upon PTPTN during Quality Hotel here.
Rafizi estimated which a sum of RM27.5 billion in loans have been disbursed as of 2011 based upon a RM24.9 billion given out as during end-2010, as well as which this volume would be reduced to RM24.7 billion after last years repayments.
He described this as a docile sum which can be covered by a supervision via phased repayments over a subsequent decade or so.
We can emanate holds for a RM24.7 billion... There have been copiousness of mechanisms as well as choices accessible to a government.
We can refinance. Its not a complaint to compensate off a RM24.7 billion over a duration of 10 years, he said, stressing which getting rid of PTPTN did not mean emptying out a bank accounts tomorrow.
PTPTN loans could additionally be paid off using state oil organisation Petronass contributions to a governments coffers, which totalled about RM60 billion per year, Rafizi said.
He pronounced if usually RM2 billion from Petronas was set aside each year to compensate for a loans due to a government, these can be staid in about a decade! also.
Within 10 years, you can compensate a RM24 billion. Simple. RM2 billion from RM60 billion is about 3 per cent... Its no complaint whatsoever, he said.
RM2 billion, in a grand intrigue of things financially, is really small. The numbers strengthen a dignified case opposite BN (Barisan Nasional) who have refused to wipe out a RM24 billion.
Those who have already repaid a portion of their loans will additionally be given a partial rebate, a commission of which can be bound during a later stage, Rafizi added.
But he noted which even if each sen had to be repaid it would usually volume to RM2.8 billion, which is how most has been paid behind to PTPTN given a funds inception in 1997.
The opposition Pakatan Rakyat (PR) pact has pledged to yield free preparation to all eligible Malaysians should they come to federal power as well as has additionally betrothed to annul PTPTN.
The Najib administration, however, has charged which such a process will bankrupt a nation.
Some provisions in Security Offences Bill need review
Since a dramatization some-more than fifty-one years ago, this piece of oppressive legislation enabling surety apprehension without trial, has been extensively condemned for being a sum defilement of tellurian rights, as well as for a vicious as well as indiscriminate abuse resulting from a use.
The Malaysian Bar is fully supportive of a government's target to fight terrorism, which represents an unusual threat to general as well as domestic assent as well as security. The government's counter-terrorism policy as well as actions contingency set upon a delicate balance between collective confidence as well as individual liberties, as well as be consistent with a rule of law.
In a Memorandum antiquated nineteen July 2010 ("Memorandum")[i], a Malaysian Bar voiced a perspective which there is adequate legislation to fight terrorism and, where necessary, a existing legislation could be strengthened alongside softened safeguards as well as slip mechanisms.
Furthermore, a limit duration of apprehension of twenty-eight days, after a arrest as well as apprehension duration of twenty-four hours, is consistent with a Bar's in front of in a Memorandum.
The Bar Council was invited by a fair Attorney General to yield a comments - although within a short duration of time prior to this legislation being tabled in Parliament - as well as two meetings were held to plead a Bill.
We acquire a open-minded as well as straightforward dialogue with a Attorney General's Chambers, as well as note which a little of a suggestions were accepted.
Whilst you conclude a government's enterprise for discerning movement as well as a hard work of a Attorney General's Chambers in a study, as well as drafting, of a Bill as well as a Amendments, you titillate which in future a consultation process be some-more extensive, as well as some-more time be supposing for it.
The Bill vests unusual as well as wide-ranging powers in a government. The Bar expresses a concerns regarding, inter alia, a following issues [iii], which merit serve investigate as well as debate.
(a) Preamble - a validity of a Bill is not contingent upon a invocation of Article 149 so long as it contains safeguards consistent with elemental liberties.
(b) Section 3 (Interpretation) - a clarification of "security offences" includes an! action tha t is unjust to inhabitant confidence or open safety. [iv]
Any action dictated to cause death or critical bodily damage to a civilian, or to any alternative chairman not taking an active part in a hostilities in a situation of armed conflict, when a purpose of such act, by a nature or context, is to intimidate a population, or to compel a supervision or an general organization to do or abstain from doing an act.
(c) Section 4 (Power of arrest as well as detention) - a extension of a duration of apprehension for a duration of not some-more than twenty-eight days should be theme to judicial oversight, instead of by way of decision of a police officer of or upon top of a rank of superintendent.
(d) Section 6 (Power to prevent communication) - this energy should be exercised by a judge, as well as solicitor-client communications contingency ! be prote cted.
(e) Parts IV (Special Procedures Relating to Sensitive Information) as well as VII (Evidence) - it is here which a Malaysian Bar has a greatest concerns, as well as where there have been in advance departures from a current manners of evidence. The make use of of a summary of a justification (as against to a justification itself) as well as a lowering of a admissibility starting point will pose a critical snag to a fair trial.
In particular, a in advance depart from a typical manners of justification may negatively impact upon a accused's right to a fair trial. Counter-terrorism laws, policies as well as decisions contingency not usurp a really rights as well as freedoms which a terrorists themselves have been threating.
We conclude a assurance of a Attorney General that! there w ill be continuous investigate as well as review of a Bill as well as a Amendments, as well as which a Malaysian Bar's grant will be welcomed.
Apart from a ISA, a alternative legislation which now stays for a Honourable Prime Minister to consider amending - to rid a statute books of all capricious apprehension laws - have been a Dangerous Drugs (Special Preventive Measures) Act 1985 as well as Prevention of Crime Act 1959, upon a assumption which there will be no re-introduction of a Emergency (Public Order as well as Prevention of Crime) Ordinance 1969.
The Malaysian Bar encourages as well as supports a budding apportion to go on upon a trail of law reform which is consonant with general tellurian rights norms.

CILI KASI TARUK! EH! EH! RAZALI DAH BERSUARA LA!
PTPTN bukan perkara baru.

Read more

BN's New S.O.B.
When a so called abolishment of a evil BN ISA was announced last year, typical fellows were not jubilant meditative a brand brand new dawn has come to BolehLand.
The Ass-embly Act was greeted with contempt by those who cherish freedom of association. Of march those who don't wish to remove their domestic grip as well as carry out will applaud it. You see, a some-more fright we put on people, a some-more coward as well as quiet in to submission they will be. In a end, we have a submissive, weak villainous bunch or typical sissy adults who tremble with fright as well as sweat saying a bois in blue, together with a Rela fellow or any a single with a uniform, central or feign will bring tremble of fright as well as tremble to a typical folks.
So a BN supervision has delivered what it promised, giving us a wrong things really. To be accurate a S.O.B.
We thought a ISA is a mom of all evil action in BolehLand opposite polite as well as tellurian rights. Now that mom of all evil have spawned a S.O.B. joke intended, with a law that really aptly symbolises those who crafted it as well as have been going to await as well as pass it in to law. The Security Offences Bill or a S.O.B.
Even if those who gave bieing born to this S.O.B. as well as try to alleviate as well as have it a little bona fide child of a ISA job it a S.O. (Special Measures) B. a creators as well as those who will in a future await it cannot escape a actuality that they have been a fellows who gave bieing born to this S.O.B. yet even if they try to alleviate it with (Special Measures) hah!
So who was that. smart-a$ $ who thought up of this shining name for an act? A 1S.O.B we can supposed, eh? With such a name BolehLand is once again made as a shouting stock to a whole world for such a s.o.b with a name for a critical law right?
Imagine if a sin! gle uses a reduced form for a Minister who is tabling a law in a headlines report. 'Today in Parliament, Honorabl! e Minist er His-sham's S.O.B. was read for a first time' Or, 1Malaysia gives his full await to a S.O.B.... we get a drift right?
Perhaps a name is conscious to have a critical indicate that a supplies have pointy teeth that can punch any a single who violates them. Anyone would certainly tremble conference 'This S.O.B. has teeth that will punch your freedom as well as polite liberties away, right'?
This S.O.B is still apprehension but hearing as well as noone is able to subject it even if it's for twenty-four hrs or a month. And since we have cases of typical folks being incarcerated similar to a mom or even an aide about twenty-four hours or a bit more, a single got her modesty angry in presumably a office building built by taxpayers' money called a military station, whilst an additional someway died descending from a window!
So what is a opposite between this S.O.B. as well as a alternative acts of confinement but hearing where those who have been ostensible to uphold a law if a allegations of a victims have been true, have been working similar to s*bs too for outraging a mother?
Are we all going to make use of a argument of a challenging times we have that warrants this S.O.B. to threat those hapless adults being arrested underneath it similar to a little s.o.bs where their dignity as well as basic tellurian rights have been deprived as well as they have been abused psychologically as well as physically?
Critics will only note that this S.O.B. is only an additional I.S.A. since this apprehension but hearing as well as of march a rsther than ambiguous definition of what constitutes 'threat' or who it would be destined against.
And this clause "threatened by a estimable physique of persons both inside as well as outward Malaysia" to equates to a estimable number of adults to fear, organised violence opposite persons or property, to excite disaffec! tion opp osite a Yang di-Pertuan, that is prejudicial to open order in, or a confidence of, a Federation, or to procure a alteration, otherwise than by central means, of anything by law established,' can mean regulating this S.O.B. opposite Jews outward BolehLand since the! ir actio ns in a Palestine have been causing a large estimable number of BolehLand adults to go in to a jihad frenzy as well as demonstrations as well as causing debility as well as threaten a faith of members of a central religion, huh?
With such AWESOME clause, BN's brand brand new S.O.B. is no joke possibly eh?!
'Procure a modification than by central means? What about a politicians who have been altering a contribution of history by central means, spreading hate by regulating competition as well as threaten those who do not wish to follow their chronicle of history or even job God's name regulating a Arabic word huh?
What about a politicians as well as right wing NGOs who procure a modification by regulating a law on their side to belittle alternative race, religions as well as what have you?
So most abuses have been done by a instruments of a state with claims of principle that give them a central right to be disposition in their action towards certain race, groups, domestic parties as well as even domestic opponents. Such modification of healthy justice seem to be excusable as well as corroborated by a law we can supposed!
Much as we have been told a S.O.B. is to protect a people as well as government of God, King as well as Country, we know a truth that there have been as well as will be abuses to it.
It doesn't need rocket scholarship or a healing or psychology grade to know what it equates to when someone calls an additional fellow a s.o.b as well as all a derogatory meaning that is tagged to this labelling. One can additionally ostensible this brand brand new S.O.B law shares is at standard with as well as shares all a meanings compared with a s.o.b. that 90% of us save a BN fellows! would h ave used it possibly in a thoughts as well as disproportion as well as additionally in a deed, huh?
So we can expect a BN politicians, UMNO, MCA, MIC, Gerakan as well as a alternative parties led by a control will all bow as well as say 'aye' to this S.O.B. when they have been called on to put their hands up to say 'aye' to this S.O.B.
If we have been a supporter or supporter of a course, we will be called a sons or daughters of a equates to or thing or chairman or entity ! right? S o if a single is a supporter or supporter of this brand brand new S.O.B. does it have a single a not as big chronicle s.o.b. of this mom of all S.O.B. huh?

The Anti-Nuclear Alliance of Western Australia (ANAWA) has revealed that Lynas Corporation Ltd was supposed to set up a plant in Western Australia as well as not Malaysia.
According to ANAWA, Lynas' 14-year-old plans indicated that a Australian mining hulk had orginally planned to set up a estimate plant in Meenar a decade ago. But until currently there had been no signs of any growth upon a dictated site.
ANAWA spokesperson Marcus Atkinson revealed that a orginal approvals were since by a Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) for Lynas to boat singular earth to buyers as well as confirmed that he had viewed these relevant papers firsthand.
However, he pronounced that Lynas had since done numerous alterations to a oper! ations t o a indicate that a singular earth refinery had right away landed in Malaysia. "Now it involves Malaysia as well as a moral responsibility," he said.
"This is a finish shift to a strange devise as a result why we have been urging a EPA to examination Lynas' approvals."
Atkinson added that ANAWA as well as EDO strongly believed that Lynas had selected to move a operations to Malaysia since of a complicated metals as well as hot rubbish concerned in a processing. "We believe Lynas picked Malaysia to save income as well as enable it to work underneath reduction stri! ngent la ws". "The greatest concerns about a estimate have been a storage as well as rubbish government issues that have been done some-more difficult in Gebeng that we understand to be wetlands."
Asked if Lyns would be allowed to work in a same manner as well as with a same liberty in Western Australia as in Gebeng, Atkinson firmly replied in a negative.
"There is no way it could work a way it is in Malaysia over here," he said. "Australia's laws have been much some-more stringent."
