770 settlers sue Felda for RM422 million


Settlers opposite 8 plantations in Pahang have been suing a Federal Land Development Authority (Felda) for fraud as well as breach of certitude claiming up to RM422 million.

The fit was filed during a Kuantan High Court by 770 settlers from Felda Chini as well as Felda Chini Timur in Pekan, Pahang yet solicitors Daim & Gamany during noon today

It claimed that they had been cheated over a class of their oil palm fruit.

The settlers declared Felda as well as Felda Palm Industries Sdn Bhd as defendants as well as claimed a latter has been grading their produce of oil palm lower than it should have been for a last 17 years.

According to lead counsel R Sivarasa, a oil extraction rate of a settlers' produce was graded an average of 18.5 percent when a endorsed rate from a Malaysian Palm Oil Board is during least twenty-two percent.
