
Utusan Malaysiaclaims that the 'new flag' dubbedSang Saka Malayaunfurled during the Merdeka eve celebrations during Dataran Merdeka was written by PKR Youth deputy publicity chief Najwan Halimi.

It also reported that Najwan (right) had upon Aug 30, 2009, posted an essay upon his blog explaining thatSang Saka Malayawas written by him formed upon the patterns of Indonesia as well as Singapore's inhabitant flags, the birthright from the governments of this archipelago.
The essay pointed out that the Malaysian inhabitant flag, theJalur Gemilang, does not simulate the same elements, as it was mutated from the 'Stars as well as Stripes', the dwindle of the United States.
It said maybe this was the reason behind Malaysians' reluctance to raise the inhabitant flag.
Najwan will call the press discussion after today to reply upon the issue.
Continued criticism
Utusan Malaysiatoday continued to highlight criticisms against the action ofraising Sang Saka Malayaduring the 'Janji Demokrasi' rally final Thursday that was organised by polite society groups.

The military have proposed aninvestigationinto the situation of raising the 'new flag' under Section 4(1)(a) of the Sedition Act 1948 for doing, attempting, preparing or conspiring to do an action of seditious tendency.
They are also upon the lookout for people who stepped upon photographs of Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak as well as his wife Rosmah Mansor during the same event.
The military said this action was being investigated under Section 290 of the Penal Code for committing the open bother as well as Section 504 of the same law for causing conscious insult with vigilant to incite the crack of the peace.
