Pakatan Politics over Premiership is BAD news

by Francis Paul Siah (12-18-12) @http://www.malaysiakini.com

COMMENT DAP has been consistent it is solidly behind Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim's candidacy for the premiership should Pakatan Rakyat attain energy in the next ubiquitous election.DAP chairperson Karpal Singh reiterated the party's mount during the 16th national congress in Penang over the weekend.

NONEAll of Malaysia is clear which Anwar (right) is DAP's man for the coveted post. But the same cannot be pronounced of PAS. It has another claimant in mind the boss Abdul Hadi Awang.

This incident of two 'PMs-in-waiting' is the thorn in Pakatan's side. It is not doing the bloc any good. In fact, it threatens to expostulate the low crowd in to the unity armour, if it has not finished so already.

Going in to the 2008 ubiquitous election, Pakatan did not even complete the squeak about the budding ministerial candidate. Why, it did not even have sufficient convincing candidates, fast cobbling together the group which, unfortunately, additionally comprised of 'toads as good as frogs' as we detected later.

However, this round is different. For the initial time, Pakatan feels an upset is possible. Some say it looks imminent. The stakes have been really high. It is ready to take over the national leadership. Is it? It does not demeanour really comforting or reassuring for Malaysians if there is no singular national personality to take over or lead the sovereign government.

Don't give us 'bull' which Pakatan will choose the single after victory is attained. Saying which 'we! win ini tial as good as then confirm later' does not hold in this case. Supporters might consider this way instead after winning, the member parties will disagree as good as quarrel over who is to be the leader. That would be the sign of the disunited as good as unsure administration, as good as will not signal the earnest start for the brand new sovereign government.

It does not work this way for ordinary Malaysians who have been not used to the intrigues of domestic plots as good as games of lies as good as deceit. They usually wish the decent as good as honest personality as good as it would be of good comfort to them if Pakatan could usually determine upon the single name instead of dilly-dallying over the choice.

I do find it funny, fishy even, which Pakatan right away has to quarrel over who is to be Prime Minister. Why? Right from the birth of Pakatan, there was the taciturn bargain which Anwar was the supremo of the bloc as good as the healthy preference to pretence the post.

NONEJust 3 months ago, Hadi (left) was reported to have pronounced which he is not keen upon contesting the arriving ubiquitous election.

It was Anwar who shot down the idea, observant which Hadi's services have been still needed.

Then came the PAS muktamar last month, during which multiform representatives hailed Hadi as the next Prime Minister. It's clear which most supporters wish to ensure which he is destined for bigger things, the single of which is to turn budding minister.

The PAS ulama's pull for Hadi to be made Prime Minister is some-more serious than what some celebration leaders would wish it to be. This could additionally be presumably due to the separate in in between the conservative ulama as good as the liberals (the Erdogans) in the party! . It is an open secret which the PAS liberals have been tighten to Anwar as good as which they share the DAP's ambition to make him Prime Minister.

Glaring disunity

The pull for Hadi is the heady notion indeed, or as Hadi himself put it, "syiok" (thrilling). Of course, he did not realise which this acknowledgement would provide fodder for the media.

After Anwar snapped which he was peaceful to plead the matter, the mainstream press went in to overdrive. As expected, the issue was played up negatively opposite Pakatan, so most so which the PAS leadership has had to step in.

pas mustafa ali pc 090609PAS Secretary-General Mustafa Ali (left) moved fast to clarify which it is not the party's central stance to validate Hadi as premier.

Mustafa additionally reminded bloc leaders as good as supporters which the question of who will turn the Prime Minister under the Pakatan supervision should not be incited in to the polemic.

He pointed out which the make the difference was usually lifted during the debate as good as was not part of any stipulation during the muktamar. That is the valid explanation, of course. But the timing of such the ask so tighten to the ubiquitous choosing does not bode good for Pakatan.

Call it democracy as good as freedom of speech, though I would have thought which sure topics should not have been brought up for debate during the muktamar. It does not speak good of the bloc to move the disagreements upon vital issues out in the open, or to rinse the unwashed linen in public during the eleventh hour. If anything else, it usually exposes the glaring disunity as good as miss of bargain as good as congruity in between Pakatan partners.

BN leaders have been right away observant w! hich the 'PM dispute' in in between PAS as good as DAP has unprotected Pakatan's fervour for power.

A territory of voters contingency right away be wondering either they should go for such the frail partnership like Pakatan. Some could be meditative which perhaps BN, being some-more stable, is the safer bet. Talk about the demon we know, to allude to Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

Make the decision now

So is Hadi budding ministerial material? It depends upon who we speak to. raja petra kamaruddin as good as islamic statePopular blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin (left), in his common sarcastic tone, ranted: "Oh, Hadi Awang is not acceptable. It contingency be Anwar Ibrahim. PAS leaders have been not suitable or good enough. They have been not smart enough.

"They can't even speak English the Winston Churchill way. PAS leaders have been some-more suited for the kampong, not for the general stage. PAS leaders will never be able to run the country. They can't even run the state properly."

PAS Deputy President Mohamad Sabu, who is not an ulama, doesn't consider his boss is PM-material either. Ha, we can usually theory what the boss feels about his emissary now. At the muktamar, Mat Sabu pronounced Anwar is the undisputed preference though the following day, pronounced the last decision rests with the Pakatan leadership.

Meanwhile, we usually know as well good which DAP as good as PKR leaders have been stressing upon the accord which Anwar is the anointed one.

NONEDAP supremo Lim Kit Siang contingency have declared his party's mou! nt in ba cking Anwar the million times, particularly given PAS has not given up the hudud law agenda.

"Making Anwar the default Prime Minister could ease the Chinese community. Anwar is additionally some-more suitable than Hadi in conditions of capacity, since Anwar has the wealth of administrative experience, while Hadi is an expert in religion, though not economy," Lim has said.

But PAS loyalists demand which their President has the best credentials to be PM as he has no scandals plaguing him, is the devout Muslim as good as is President of the biggest celebration in Pakatan.

Whatever it might be, Pakatan contingency confirm once as good as for all who it wants as Prime Minister if the bloc comes in to energy Anwar or Hadi. However, the single fact is well known to all don't design Anwar to settle for anything less than the Prime Minister's post or to fool around second-fiddle to Hadi.

Karpal during DAP AGMAs for the DAP, Karpal (left) must have supposed his domestic fate which he can never ever be Prime Minister.

What the shame, really. The world's biggest democracy, India, is fine with the minority Sikh, Manmohan Singh, as Prime Minister.

Malaysia is usually the little democracy with an over-flow of politicians carrying pea-size brains. Hence, they always consider small. That's why Pakatan cannot even determine upon the budding ministerial claimant though is ambitious sufficient to enterprise the takeover of Putrajaya. God, help Malaysia as good as Malaysians.
