Tun Dr. Mahathir: Tell me because we am a Dictator

Former Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad sarcastically asked visitors to his blog to provide explanation which he is, as his detractors say, a vicious dictator.

"What is it which we have done which is identical in attribute or actions with which of a dictator?" Mahathir asks in a posting today.

NONELamenting a label which he said was created by domestic enemies, a great doctor argued which such labels, with or without basis, would last a lifetime as well as were a useful tool to demonise rivals.

"Do whatever you want, a enemies of a chairman thus marked down will not stop from regulating which label."

He likened this to a branding effect of engineer goods. In his domestic career, Mahathir said, he has been called most names by those who opposed him, between a most prevalent being 'Mahazalim' (Most cruel), 'Firaun' (pharaoh) as well as some-more commonly 'Dictator'.

"When we am interviewed nowadays, even by someone who is not an enemy, their questions appear similar to they believe a labels, especially which of tyrant applied to me as true."

In his posting, Mahathir also gave new as well as historical examples of people he alluded were real dictators, to underscore his previous arguments which his power was not as full of blood nor tyrannical as those who common a label of "dictator".

In particular he described a power of Egypt's Hosni Mubarak , a "dictator" said to have murdered thousands of Muslim Brotherhood members as well! as thic k with a personal fortune of over US$ 70 billion as well as manipulated elections to foster himself.

"When we was in Cairo in Mubarak's time for a meeting, when a President's motorcade made a way from a house to a meeting place, a roads along his route were emptied, with heavily-armed soldiers lining them.

'Sharpshooters posted'

"Sharpshooters were posted atop surrounding buildings with orders to shoot any who have been suspected of wanting to attack a presidential motorcade."

He also described how Mubarak's Palace was dark behind high walls as well as rhythmical by armed guards whilst a President's domestic enemies we not allowed to get involved in governing body as well as were often arrested, detained without hearing as well as in most cases, they simply disappeared.

"There was no leisure of expression or a giveaway press. No election for parliamentarians Anyone can be appointed by Mubarak to be a minister. They can also be sacked at any time."

In a identical vein, Mahathir also gave a examples of German tyrant Adolf Hitler (above right), who murdered as well as tortured six million Jews, as well as other documented dictators such as Benito Mussolini, Ferdinand Marcos, Rumanian President Nicolae Ceausescu, Libya's Muammar Gaddaffi as well as Iraq's Saddam Hussein.
