Oppressed traders protests relocation


Traders at the Jalan Penang Ramadhan Bazaar have been claiming that they have been "oppressed' given Pakatan took over the state government.
GEORGE TOWN: The Jalan Penang Ramadhan concert traders here have been protesting the Penang Municipal Council's decision to immigrate them to Jalan Phee Choon.
The traders' representative, Abdul Karim Gulam Ali, pronounced the Council's move would means the we estimate twenty bumiputera traders to incur waste as the brand new site was the more secluded spot.
"We've been trade here (Jalan Penang) for the past 26 years without any interruptions or reeling from the authorities.
"But given the antithesis coalition took over Penang, bumiputera traders have been oppressed," he told reporters, here today.
He pronounced blaming the concert for trade overload in the area was just an excuse, as it was the common occurrence in the state.
He combined that the state's proposed grant of RM6,000 to provide giveaway tents was not unequivocally helpful because the brand new place was the site of an deserted plan and not the renouned mark for shoppers.
He urged the state government and Council to resolve the situation immediately.
