Can the PM give us an honest government?

The Deputy Chief Commissioner (Operations) ofthe Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), Datuk Mohd Shukri Abdul, certified at the public forum not long ago which the MACC is rendered helpless when the Attorney-General does notwant to charge someone with graft even if the MACC review produces adequate evidence.
This is not the brand new revelation. It has been the common complaint over the years from the coercion agencies, whether the police, theSecurities Commission, Immigration, Customs or the MACC. These agencies can usually investigate as well as recommend, though the preference to take to court in conclusion depends upon the Attorney-General.
This is the most scandalous, preposterous as well as ridiculous state of affairs in the country. It sickens me how you have authorised such the blatant abuse of energy by the Barisan Nasional Government to go unchecked.
All these coercion agencies have been adequately staffed by comparison lawyers as well as experienced investigating officers. They have all the facilities required to control proper investigations. So since can't you allow these agencies the energy to confirm the final question, which is whether the culprit should be prosecuted or not?
you suspect the reason since the BN Government wants to keep things as they have been is which iftheycan "control" the Attorney-General, they can then practice their energy thus when it suits them.
When you was in the Government, you proposed which you should amend the Federal Constitution to give the energy to take to court not usually to the single chairman called the Attorney-General, though to the newlycreated Office of the Public Prosecutor to be headed by the Solicitor General; (and all the directed towards lawyers in which Office).
you wanted the Attorney General not t! o be con cerned in the day-to-day operations of criminal charge though to action usually as chief legal confidant to the Government so you can overcome the benefaction mischief. But the strongest objection came from my erstwhile colleagues: the BN Ministers.
They did not say since they objected though you all knew the reason. The Attorney-General will of course penchant having his full energy over Heaven as well as Earthsince no the single else in the nation can subject his practice of power. He does not have to explain his decision. And of course the BN feels pretty assured of the agreement since the Attorney-General binds bureau at the pleasure of the Crown, meaning the BN Government, so they know which they can reinhim in when necessary.
When you said which you should commission the coercion agencies to take to court by installation their officers as members of the Public Prosecutor's Office,I was told which this would not be required since the Attorney-General has the authority to nominee his energy to the officers in these agencies to take to court underneath the Criminal Procedure Code.
The problem is which these "promises" to commission coercion officers have not materialised. And even if they do materialise, the setup is such which there may well beinstances of when the agencies may take to court usually if the Attorney-General consents to it.
The complement is flawed since these legal officers have been all subservient to, as well as dependent on, the Attorney General for their promotion. They will not cross swords with him. It is unfit for them even to entertain the preference against the wishes of the Attorney-General. This is where you have been today. Why must you live with the complement which is so open to abuse.
By now, the Prime Minister should recognise which something good to eat as well as cash payments can win await from some people, though the majority of the rakyat wish an under obligation as well as responsible government much som! e-more t han handouts.
The airtime as well as the news upon since Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is not fit to be Prime Minister is the sum rubbish of time. The same news has been repeated again as well as again over the past twelve years. It should be transposed by process decisions which address the elemental weaknesses of this Government.
That would be wise for the popular as well as transformational Prime Minister. - Zaid Untuk Rakyat
