GEORGE TOWN: A Malay NGO today challenged Senator Shahrizat Abdul Jalil to contest in her home state of Penang in the entrance polls to infer which electorate still upheld her as the Umno women's chief. In arising the challenge, Penang Malay Congress president, Rahmad Isahak, criticised the outgoing federal minister for refusing to relinquish her Umno leadership post.
Rahmad pronounced Shahrizat should step down rught away as Umno Wanita arch as well to "save the party from serve embarrassment as well as open contempt".
He pronounced Shahrizat's stubborness in refusing to mind open calls for her to quit seemed to suggest which she has clever grassroots await among women folk.
"There is no improved approach for Shahrizat to infer which await than by contesting in her home state in the next general election.
"She should get the mandate from the people of Penang ," Rahmad pronounced in the matter to FMT.
He added which the Penang Malay Congress was sure which the people would reject Shahrizat as well as send her to the permanent political retirement.
Umno's credibility during stake
On Sunday, Shahrizat voiced which she would step down as Women, Family as well as Community Development Minister when her term as senator ends on Apr 8.
However, she pronounced she will remain as Umno Wanita chief.
Shahrizat quiescent in the arise of the open conflict over the National Feedlot Corporation (NFCorp) RM250 million scandal.
