More than a million Chinese yet to register as voters



(The Star) -China Dailyquoted Election Commissionchairman Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Yusofas observant which there have been more than 4.8 million Chinese who have been competent to vote, but more than 1.1 million of them had yet to register as voters.
"They claimed which they could not take time off to register. In fact, they were usually concerned about their personal matters, as well as were not unequivocally meddlesome in carrying out their duties as citizens," he said, adding which it takes usually five minutes to register.
He pronounced Selangor had a top series of Chinese voters, followed by Johor as well as Perak. About 70% of them had purebred as voters.
The states with a slightest series of Chinese electorate have been Perlis as well as Terengganu.
"There have been more than 40,000 Chinese electorate in these dual states, with 37,427 of them purebred as voters," he said.
Abdul Aziz, however, pronounced a mindset of Chinese electorate had changed over a years.
"Twenty years ago, a Chinese used to vote for a sold celebration but looking at a candidates. Now they have been also really concerned with a candidates' performance," he added.
