Balik Pulau 1 Jan: Kerajaan Negeri memperuntukan RM5 juta kepada 20 ribu anak emas yang lahir sepanjang tahun 2011, kata Ketua Menteri Pulau Pinang, Lim Guan Eng. Peruntukan itu, katanya, diberikan tanpa ada apa-apa syarat. Menurut beliau juga, kerajaan Pakatan Rakyat Pulau Pinang tidak mempunyai maksud yang tersembunyi di sebalik pemberian ini. Pemberian tersebut bertujuan untuk memenuhi keperluan bayi yang sedang membesar dengan sihat dan cergas di samping meringgankan bebanan ibubapa. "Mengikut reko! d Jabata n Kesihatan Negeri bayi yang dilahirkan tahun 2010 di Hospital kerajaan dan swasta menjangkau 19359 orang. "Bermula Januari 2011 jumlah kelahiran pula ialah 17965 orang. Dan, sehingga June 2011 seramai 1348 anak emas telah berdaftar dan menerima saguhati tanda terima kasih semoga pembesaran bayi menjadi insan yang cemerlang, gemilang dan terbilang dalam berbagai bidang, " ujarnya ketika merasmikan majlis penghargaan anak emas di Dewan Balora Mastika pagi semalam. Ibubapa kepada bayi yang diberikan anugerah patut bersyukur kerana melahirkan anak dengan selamat dan diharap pembesaran mereka memberikan kebanggaan yang tersendiri. Semua module menjadi realiti di Pulau Pinang sebab prinsip yang ditunjukan oleh kepimpinan kerajaan berjiwa rakyat, tidak menyeleweng dan bersih tanpa unsur rasuah. Generasi baru yang bakal menjadi pemimpin dan pelapis pada masa depan akan diteruskan pada masa akan datang sekiranya rakyat terus memberikan mandat pada kerajaan sedia ada.
