Umno blocked from intervening in RoS suit

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept twenty-two Umno, a statute Barisan Nasional's lynchpin, was shut off by a High Court currently from inserted in a former member's fit opposite a Registrar of Societies (RoS).

In dismissing a grand old Malay party's bid High Court decider Abang Iskandar Abang Hashim pronounced Umno had at best, an "indirect interest" in a box that could allow sacked Umno member, Amran Abdul Rahman, to be reinstated through a backdoor.

Amran was Tanah Merah Umno cabinet member when he was nude of his membership upon March 1 last year, allegedly for violation Article 20.7 of a celebration constitution by receiving Pondok Lama division arch Datuk Ikmal Hisham to court.

"This duplicate for a legal examination [by Amran] is... for him to go after a large fish to plea Umno Malaysia as bootleg in order to plea his sacking," Umno counsel Datuk Hafarizam Harun pronounced formerly in his leave duplicate to be done intervenor.

"It's an abuse of justice process," he added.

But Amran's lawyer, Ragunath Kesavan, disagreed.

The former Bar Council arch argued that Amran's brawl at a benefaction theatre was only with a RoS, that had denied a ex-party man's access to registration papers for 126 branches as well as 14 divisions in Umno Kelantan, despite his right to it underneath law.

Ragunath stressed that Umno was nonetheless to be concerned directly as well as so had no reason to be done an intervenor.

Under Section 10 of a Societies' Act, any person has a right to request report upon any purebred organization to be disclosed as long as a report is not for a society's accounts, that are limited to its members.

The box recalls a 1987 fractious court-induced separate that done a statute Malay celebration bootleg as well as saw a law amended that effectively barred members from receiving inner disputes to court.
