Catholic Bishop Dr Paul Tan Chee Ing described Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak's remarks during a hi-tea hosted by a Christian Federation of Malaysia (CFM) yesterday as "pious platitudes you are used to hearing upon these occasions".

Speaking to Malaysiakini after celebration of a mass reports upon web headlines portals upon Najib's remarks during a CFM duty which a pontiff did not attend, Bishop Tan (left) said:NONE "I don't want to sound churlish, particularly in this Yuletide season of goodwill, though if you shake down a PM's rhetoric, what have you left syrupy perspective as well as clichs which have small or no connection with realities upon a ground."

In remarks done during a Yuletide Day hi-tea attended also by his mother Rosmah Mansor, Najib assured a Christian village which they have not been marginalised. "I don't want to be Prime Minister for usually a sold territory of a community," asserted Najib. "I'm Prime Minister for all Malaysians, as well as I've pronounced which repeatedly."

Bishop Tan pronounced which no a single with knowledge of how Prime Ministers have run a Malaysian republic would think to acknowledgement which there could be an ethnocentric as well as exclusivist dimension to a PM's role.

"It's peculiar which Najib has seen fit to acknowledgement which he has to be PM of all of a diverse republic as well as not only a single or an additional partial of it," commented a Head of a Catholic Church ! of a Mel aka-Johor diocese whose two-year tenure as President of a Catholic Bishops' Conference of Malaysia, Singapore as well as Brunei ends upon Dec 31.

"If he had a broad perspective of his office, how come when Christians were accused over a final dual years of not only being 'pendatang' though sinister fifth-columnists, there was not a word from central buliding to branch which patently fake indictment which was aimed during creating suspicion as well as hatred for Christians upon a partial of a Muslim majority of this country?" queried a Bishop.

Promises not kept

The pontiff pronounced which as a first member of a Malaysian Consultative Congress of Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Sikhism as well as Taoism founded in 1984 as well as as one-time personality of a CFM, he had met, in MCCBCHST as well as CFM's roles, 3 Malaysian Prime Ministers (Dr Mahathir Mohamad, Abdullah Ahmad Badawi as well as Najib Razak) as well as "all 3 had not kept a promises they done during a dialogues you have had with them."

christmas tall tea 251212"All 3 were soft as well as calming in personal interaction with MCCBCHST as well as CFM councils though were something else when faced with contrast resources involving eremite matters as as wel! l as whe n issues fizzled in a open arena," recalled a Bishop.

"So it's deja vu as distant as I'm concerned with respect to a latest assurance from a benefaction Prime Minister."

The most reputable as well as dignified Bishop pronounced Christians have grown leery of continual assurances from a government which their contributions to education, gratification as well as heath care were not lost when a realities upon a belligerent suggest which "their purpose contingency be pale or discontinued for reason which others should not feel inferior by comparison."

"For a great of a society, this is not a difficulty which Christians can abide any more for reason which their light cannot be dark under a load as well as their truth frees as well as holds no a single in bondage," pronounced a Bishop.

"I feel this integrity will register shortly upon a polity to a benefit of those domestic leaders who elect to tack with it in a beautiful demeanour as well as to a disadvantage of those who mean to plunge into it in a merely politically judicious as well as vote-catching way."
