Why discriminate Paralympic winners?

A former MCA trainer asks why Paralympians get the lesser prerogative compared to Olympians.
PETALING JAYA: MCA parliamentarian for Pandan Ong Tee Keat has questioned the discriminative as well as 'unfair' prerogative complement for infirm athletes as well as is planning to raise the issue in Parliament soon.
Ong pronounced he would persevere the portion of his debate debate on Budget 2013 to question the system, which offers the lucrative one-off cash prerogative to Olympics medalists though not to their Paralympics counterparts.
Under the Athlete Incentive Scheme (Shakam), gold award winners at the Olympics perceived the one-off RM1 million payment whilst china as well as bronze award winners receive RM300,000 as well as RM100,000 respectively.
This was in stark contrast to Paralympic gold award winners who perceived RM300,000 whilst china as well as bronze award winners get RM200,000 as well as RM100,000 respectively.
"Today, despite them winning medals, there is still the universe of differences in terms of the treatments they got as compared to Lee Chong Wei or Pandelela (Rinong).
"Disabled athletes flare out double efforts to take part in Paralympics, they should be since equal shares of reward," Ong pronounced in the video clip posted on his YouTube channel.
When contacted by FMT, Ong also disagreed with Sport Minister Ahmad Shabery Cheek's new remark which the prerogative opening was due to the Paralympics games' structure, where mixed sub-categories are found underneath the category such as 100 meter sprint.
He pronounced the ministry should take in to account the ! earthy c hallenges the infirm athletes need to endure as well as the jobs they may abandon to take part in the trainings.
Hence, he urged the ministry to come out with the resource which would safeguard infirm athletes' pursuit security.
"The adoption scheme(bapa angkat)should be lengthened to infirm athletes, whereby government-linked companies as well as big corporate entities adopt them as well as provide them with the flexible job.
"At slightest they do not need to worry which if they go for training for two or three times in the week, they will lose their jobs," he said.
Malaysia bagged the single china as well as the single bronze award in the London Paralympics Games last month, equaled the achievement of the robust athletes in Olympics.
Of the twenty-three athletes in Malaysia contingent, Hasihin Sanawi won the china award in archery whilst Mohd Ziyad Zolkefli clinched the bronze in shot putt.
