Don't love your post too much, Dr M tells Shahrizat



Federal minister Shahrizat Abdul Jalil should adore her post reduction as well as adore a celebration more, by stepping down to prevent her personal baggage from deleterious Umno.

"(She) must consider of a repairs (it is doing) to a party. Don't adore your post as well much," former Umno president Dr Mahathir Mohamad told reporters at a press discussion after his inaugural residence as Perdana University chancellor in Serdang today.

A leader, Mahathir said, must know when it is time to step down, giving as example he, himself, who willingly left his own lofty post after 22 years in power.

"Even I, when it has been as well prolonged (in power) as well as people got bored, we left," he quipped.
"It is up to her," he said.

Mahathir was commenting on his progressing call for Shahrizat, who is Wanita Umno chief, to step down following a scandal involving her family as well as alleged misappropriation of some RM250 million in public supports by a National Feedlot Corporation (NFC).

Millions have allegedly been siphoned out of a publicly saved company to purchase condominiums, cars as well as compensate for private holidays.

However, Shahrizat as well as her family has defended themselves from any wrongdoing.
