Senai, not a royal airport anymore

Since it opened in 1974, Johor's airfield has been known as Sultan Ismail International Airport. Not anymore. A week or so ago, a airport's authorities were told to stop regulating a name and to use Senai International Airport for all intents and purposes. They claimed to have been given 24 hours to do that. The orders came from a Menteri Besar's office though a genuine orders came from elsewhere, or so it seems.

Senai, named one of a region's most appropriate rising airports final year, is run by a group which belongs to Syed Mokhtar al-Bukhary's sovereignty in Johor, which includes a Port of Tanjung Pelepas.
