Sarawak deports Haris Ibrahim

Haris Ibrahim has been barred from entering Sarawak as well as will be deported behind to KL.

PETALING JAYA: Human rights activist Haris Ibrahim has been denied entry in to Sarawak as well as is currently available deportation.

Haris, a Malaysian Civil Liberties Movement (MCLM) president, said which he was detained by Sarawak immigration authorites after alighting during a Kuching International Airport during about 5.30pm today.

"The sequence of presentation is a same as a a single in April (this year). (But) I haven't seen any writings (about this deportation) yet," he told FMT through a telephone conversation.

He will be sent behind to KLIA upon a 7.30pm flight.

"They asked me to pay for a air fare but I told them to ask (Sarawak CM) Taib Mahmud for it," he said.

Haris also said which his outing to Kuching currently was to host an MCLM event well known as a Rakyat Reform Agenda (RARA).

He combined which MCLM had held identical RARA events in both Tawau as well as Kota Kinabalu before to Kuching.

Haris was barred from entering a state in April this year during a Sarawak state election. At a time, it was believed which he was stopped from entering Sarawak under Section 65 of a Immigration Act 1959/1963.

Under a Malaysia Agreement, Sarawak has a power to bar anyone from entering a state, including persons from Peninsular Malaysia.
