Perkasa moots committee on detention without trial

Perkasa today proposed which the high-powered cabinet be formed to confirm on the apprehension but hearing of people believed to be threats to national security.

Its president, Ibrahim Ali, pronounced with the extermination of the Internal Security Act (ISA), the resource contingency be put in place which would enable swift decisions to be made on apprehension orders.

"Going by the court process would take the long time. It would be improved to have the cabinet to confirm there and then either or not an individual should be detained," he pronounced at the press discussion after presenting the memorandum on confidence reforms to Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein.
