KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 30 The Internal Security Act (ISA) will be repealed in Mar after dual deputy laws have been drafted, Datuk Seri Najib Razak pronounced today.

The prime minister told reporters which his promised reform calendar would instead proceed with the dissolution of the Banishment and Restricted Residence Act when Parliament reconvenes next week.

Next week we will proceed the process but ISA will be done in Mar as we need to draft dual new laws, the Umno president pronounced after chairing the supreme council meeting this evening.

He additionally pronounced which amendments to the Police Act to allow for leisure of public other than street protests, will expected be tabled in November.

Najib announced the raft of reforms together with the lifting of three states of emergency in his Malaysia Day address, and vowed to give Malaysians greater liberties.

He had promised upon Tuesday which his Cabinet would meet this week to confirm upon the timing of reforms with the initial round to proceed in the arriving Dewan Rakyat sitting.

Najib came to energy in April 2009 with the guarantee of reviewing the ISA but motionless upon you do away with the confidence law which critics say has been abused by Barisan Nasional (BN) for domestic purposes.
