Syabas 8TV!

By now, most of us would have been aware of the open use advertisements which have been pulled out by 8TV.

For those who have not seen it yet, the overwhelming open use advertisements could be accessed via the Malaysian Insider report yesterday.

It is extraordinary which the little people could take leave from their comprehension in full open view nowadays. And we seem to be doing it with the coherence of Datuk Nicole Davids in the squish courts. Syabas.

The thing which struck me was the nonchalant attitude shown by Media Prima arch handling officer Ahmad Izham Omar when the advertisements were formulating the storm in cyberspace yesterday. He was reported as saying, upon his twitter account:

Chill guys. Dont overthink the ads. Its written, constructed as well as directed by the multi-racial team. If we overanalyse, anything will be bad.

As the media man, he should know which the message driven open use announcement would during the little point of time be dissected as well as analysed by the really aim of those advertisements. And when the advertisements spin stereotyping into an art, certainly they will hold upon raw nerves.

One does not have to overthink about those advertisements to find them offensive as well as insensitive. The fact which it was constructed by the multi-racial group does not negate the somewhat guileful stereotyping contained in the advertisements.

The recommendation to chill out was, to me, even some-more scornful than the advertisements themselves.

Speaking of insult, we am certain most Muslims would find those advertisements scornful as well. How diseased have been we, Muslims? We would be violation quick when we see alternati! ve peopl e eat or drink? Or we would be carrying the hard-on during the pasar Ramadhan when we s! ee girls in sleeveless tank top showing their arm array eh?

The ritual of fasting is meant to cleanse not usually the physical body but also the soul. We have been supposed to be humbled by the experience of fasting. We have been supposed to sense the sufferings of those who have been not as lucky as we are, those who do not have food as well as drinks like us day in day out via the year as opposed to usually 30 days or so the year.

Why have been we so diseased so most so which we have to ask people of alternative conviction not to splash or eat in front of us? For Gods sake, the Prophet as well as his supporters fought the Badar battle upon the 17th day of Ramadhan in the year 624. And here, right away in 2011, we seek the non-Muslims understanding not to eat in front of us in Ramadhan. Awesome.

I only love saying how the Chinese-looking girl was portrayed as the miserly chairman trying to make the pig out of herself with all the food. If 8TV crew could go to the single of those hotels which serves the RM100++ buka puasa buffet, maybe they would see which Muslims as well put mountainous volume of food upon their plate as well which during the finish is not consumed.

There have been most messages which could be delivered during Ramadhan. Messages about how we all should be moderate in the buka puasa meals; about how we all should not dont consider about the sufferings of those in poverty as well as those young kids who have to work upon the streets of Chow Kit to fend for themselves; about how we all should not only consider which Ramadhan is all about avoiding food as well as splash in day time; about how we should all essay to apply oneself any other, to treat any alternative with great manners as well as in civility; about how we should all detoxify the essence from greed, corruption, intoxication with all things materials etc etc.

Instead we chose to debase the neighbours as! well as friends with unresponsive as well as roughly meaningless stereotyping this Ramadhan. Just the couple of days ago we remember the Honourable Prime Minister preaching for acceptance instead of tolerance. What have the people during 8TV schooled from which exhortation?

Well, th! e advert isements have been pulled out. The arch handling officer of Media Prima had reportedly said:

Ok guys. Were pulling out the ads. Thank we really most for your concern.

He followed up by asking:

And right away to some-more critical things... Does the horn territory sound better with 4 trombones? Or would only 3 trombones be enough?

Yes, life goes on, isnt it? There have been most some-more critical things in life.

As for the horn territory with 3 or 4 trombones, we would certainly goal 8TV is not starting to air the programme upon it. Because we fear they might only go as well as inspect the little horns upon the little cars as well as air their findings.
