PSC framework based on Bersih demands

KUALA LUMPUR: Minister in a Prime Minister Nazri Aziz pronounced currently a proposed Parliamentary Select Committee (PSC) upon electoral reforms will have a framework based upon a demands done by check watchdog Bersih 2.0.

Although not mentioning Bersihs name, Nazri pronounced a Election Commission (EC) will prepare a content of a chit which will embody all 8 demands done by Bersih and is approaching to be presented to a Cabinet upon Sept 7.

We dont want them to accuse this (PSC) of window-dressing, he told a press conference.

After a Cabinet has endorsed a memorandum, it will be presented to a Parliamentary Rights and Privileges Committee for approval, Nazri said.

He added which he expects a motion to set up a PSC to be tabled in Parliament by October 3.
