SPEAKING during the Book Launch of 'Enchanting Borneo Special Edition' during the Pacific Sutera Hotel today, Minister of Tourism, Culture as good as Environment, Datuk Masidi Manjun pronounced which many people have listened of Borneo but few have listened of Sabah, as good as hopefully, the book would help to have Sabah better known.

He told the gathering, however, which some-more as good as some-more people now know Sabah as good as consider it the good place to come for their holiday. He cited as the box in indicate the 45 percent rise in the array of European visitors to Sabah over the final 10 months.
He considers these numbers as significant as tourism is one of Sabah's main income earners as good as the steady enlarge of traveller arrivals is demonstrative of the growth of state's tourism industry.

In 2009, 2.24 million visitors arrived in Sabah. This increased to 2.5 million in 2010 as good as 2.84 million in 2011. Despite the tellurian economic dejection the array of visitors continued to climb. Sabah received 1.87 million traveller arrivals during the first eight months of this year, with income valued during RM3.39 billion.

Masidi was quite upbeat about! Sabah's capability to attract high-end tourists. He pronounced arrivals from Germany have gone up about 71 percent in the final 10 months.

The array of Chinese travellers has serve risen, numbering the little 132, 377 visitors from January to Aug 2012, as compared to 133, 736 people in 2011.

"Before the year ends, we believe we should be means to get 150,000 Chinese travellers to Sabah," Masidi said.

Commenting on the launch of the Enchanting Borneo book, Masidi pronounced the book would serve spark interest in Sabah.

Enchanting Borneo is partial of the travel print book array by Australian writer David Bowden. The 80-page book includes basic information as good as interesting snippets about Sabah, Sarawak, Brunei as good as Kalimantan.

Bowden first came to Sabah as the expert for the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Malaysia, as good as has lived in Sabah in the past twenty years.

In his speech during the book launch, Bowden praised the tourism attention in Sabah.

"Borneo is still one of the world's best tourism secrets which have not been overshoot by mass tourism. All which is required is correct government as good as guidance, as good as we think this is good as good as truly in place in Sabah," he said. (Insight Sabah)
