Claims that Hong Kong’s Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) had closed the case on the RM40 million donation which was allegedly going to be smuggled into Malaysia, due to non-cooperation by Malaysian authorities are “not true”, said cabinet minister Mohd Nazri Abdul Aziz.

The total cumulative committed investment in the Sabah Development Corridor (SDC) has reached RM107 billion as at the end of the first quarter of this year, said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman.
He said this reflected private sector confidence in the state’s economy following the alignment of SDC and other projects with national-level plans.
Musa also announced that the Sabah Economic Development and Investment Authority (Sedia), a one-stop authority to drive the SDC, has endorsed the governance structure for Entry Point Projects (EPPs). In this respect, a Steering and Delivery Management Office had been established under Sedia for this purpose, he said in his opening remarks at the Ninth Meeting of Members of the Authority at Wisma Sedia near here yesterday.
He said the structure, which was integrated into Sedia’s existing investment processing and monitoring mechanism, would make Sedia the One-Stop Authority to plan, attract, process, facilitate and monitor investments into the SDC.
“New investments identified as EPPs may be submitted through this mechanism.
“I believe this will enable SEDIA to help the nation expedite the implementation of the Economic Transformation Programme (ETP),” he said.
Musa, who is also State Finance Minister, said the lab for Sabah placed emphasis on aligning the ETP, Government Transformation Programme (GTP) and Tenth Malaysia Plan with the SDC and local development plans.
“This process for SDC and Greater Kota Kinabalu identified 31 EPPs with a target investment of RM77.5 billion by the year 2020,” he said.
He said these EPPs were expected to generate RM35.5 billion in incremental Gross National Income (GNI), and create about 144,000 new jobs.
Musa said the implementation of these EPPs was estimated to be able to drive Sabah’s economic growth at an annual average of nine per cent.
He said during the launch of the SDC Open Day two months ago, the Prime Minister had made special reference to and applauded the close working relationship between the Sabah and the Federal governments.
“The implementation of SDC and the establishment of Sedia has indeed facilitated and enhanced a closer working relationship between the State and federal governments.
“As the chairman of Sedia, I wish to assure you that all outstanding SDC projects will be carried out, and we will implement new projects including the identified EPPs,” he said.
Musa said Sedia would accord greater emphasis on measures to encourage investors to partner or enter into joint ventures with Government-Linked Companies (GLCs) and SDC implementing agencies, and to team up with local entrepreneurs.

Pelaburan dalam Koridor Pembangunan Sabah juga semakin aktif dengan jumlah pelaburan terkumpul direalisasikan (cummulative realized investment) melalui Projek-projek Permulaan (Entry-Point Projects) setakat bulan Julai 2012 sebanyak RM9.43 bilion.

Berdasarkan unjuran, senario ekonomi negeri pada masa hadapan adalah cerah dan mempunyai prospek yang baik di mana beberapa projek swasta berimpak tinggi yang dibiayai melalui kerjasama awam dan swasta dijangka akan memainkan peranan dan menjadi pemangkin dalam menjana pertumbuhan ekonomi negeri. Pada masa ini, terdapat pelbagai projek berimpak tinggi yang sedang dilaksanakan yang merangkumi beberapa sektor termasuklah sektor minyak, gas dan tenaga, pelancongan, pertanian dan pembangunan hartanah bersepadu berkos tinggi (high end integrated real estate development).

Datuk Musa Aman accused the opposition of “rehashing the same old story” and called them political bankrupts for trying to press Hong Kong to reopen a graft probe for which he said he had already been cleared.
Musa said he did not understand why PKR could not accept the truth.
“What more do they want? They are trying again to use the same complaint to gain political mileage.
“They are rehashing the same old story. I think I am entitled to conclude that the opposition is a political bankrupt. We are entitled to treat their recent rehashed allegation with the contempt it so richly deserves.
“I remain humble, but surely there is a limit to one’s humility and patience.” he said in the statement.
“No, that’s not true, when it comes to corruption, theirs is international networking, you cannot not co-operate with other countries’ anti-corruption body. You know that corruption now is trans-border crime... certainly that’s not true.”
“Don’t listen to people, people say a lot of things. These people have no facts backing them and they try to cast aspersion and all that. We should not take what they say seriously unless the body itself says it… what you should be listening to is what ICAC says.”
Rafizi is a seeker attention. He is coward to reveal his own party wrongdoings.
I don't think the ICAC will reopen the case since there is no new evidence besides the recycled and irrelevant ones.
Anwar already promised to give a big post to Rafizi if he could taint Musa's image.
The people of Sabahare wise enough to evaluate the credibility of Barisan Nasional (BN) leaders who have strived to improve their wellbeing, said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman.
He said they could also judge for themselves the predilection of opposition leaders in jostling for positions even before going to the polls.
The opposition are in a state of denial by claiming that the Government had not brought any development to Sabah and accuse the Sabah leaders especially the CM with false allegations.
Both the state and federal governments were doing their best to improve the wellbeing of the people from all walks of life through the 2013 budgets respectively.
