Disrespectful to retard statue of Lord Murugan, say residents
THOSE staying nearby Batu Caves say the argumentative 29-storey Dolomite Park Avenue common ownership plan is disrespectful to Lord Murugan, whose statue stands at the entrance to the caves.
Housewife P. Vimala, 41, pronounced she disagreed with the plan from the begin after she found out which it would retard the 42.7m-high statue.
"The golden statue of Lord Murugan is the symbol, an idol of Batu Caves. I'm happy the budding minister is receiving movement as well as branch the church drift into the Unesco World Heritage Site," she pronounced when met at the Barisan Nasional (BN) Deepavali Open House yesterday.
"But why was it (the condominium) authorized in the initial place?"
A. Ragunath, 38, an oil as well as gas company operations manager from Puchong, pronounced building the whole of the proposed plan would affect the environment.
"It is nearby the limestone hill area as well as those who authorized it should know this. Why didn't they demeanour for another site over Batu Caves?" he asked.
"I have been starting to Batu Caves since we was 4 with my family as well as to hear which the 29-storey retard is starting to be set up there only shows which the little people don't have respect for religion," he said.
S. Gunaseelan, 47, the grill owner from Brickfields, also questioned the capitulation of the project.
"First of all, how can such the plan be since the immature light?" he asked.
"Those behind the plan did not consider this through properly. It is nearby the religious complex. If you were to set up any ! housing or blurb lots nearby places of worship, we am sure there would be clever oppostion from the public."
Gunaseelan agreed with Ragunath's matter which there were alternative locations in Gombak.
