The various faiths have mutual respect for one another, Guan Eng admits



I find Malaysiakini's streamer for the article Speak out opposite injustices, Christians urged misleading, to select the kindest word. It seems to indicate injustices committed opposite the Church in this country, which the dual paragraphs above totally contradict. In fact, YAB Lim Guan Eng clearly admits which he had not met with problems with any religious physique in Penang since he took over. Of course, the "mutual respect" Guan Eng refers to could not have happened overnight as the result of the result of the Mar 2008 general elections. How can, right? It must have been there prior to Guan Eng became Chief Minister of Penang. A long, prolonged time prior to that.

The actuality is, the foundation for religious (and racial) harmony in Malaysia (not just Penang) had been laid down by the forefathers in the loyal suggestion of oneness; which it remains plain despite the assorted attempts to shake it is the credit to the past as well as present leaders, as well as it shows which we the standing quo, the multi-religious multitude which respect one another, have been not swayed by those who want to see us divided ...

With regards to vocalization out opposite injustices, we should all verbalise out opposite injustices, not jsut the Christian friends. In fact, Christians in Malaysia should verbalise out opposite injustices committed by fellow Christians opposite alternative people of alternative faiths in alternative countries. Just as Malay-Muslims must not sojourn still opposite injustices opposite alternative religions, even when they have been committed by fellow Muslims.

In any case, I'm sure Malaysiakini was expecting its provocative as well as dubious ! piece to provoke the reaction. And of march it gets a little ...
