Police 'extorted' wife of death-in-custody victim


Police asked a mother of death-in-custody victim P Chandran to compensate RM300 when she sought inform about her father at a Cheras district military headquarters just prior to his death.

This is stated in a military inform filed by a victim's brother-in-law, R Rajan Naidu.

Rajan says in a inform which Chandran's wife, N Selvi, told him a military officer asked her to compensate RM300 prior to disclosing inform about her husband.

"She told me which a military officer had sought RM300 for inform upon her husband, as well as told her which military were receiving him to court," a military inform lodged says.

The inform says Selvi had to "sleep underneath a bridge" during a dual nights she stayed in Kuala Lumpur to check upon Chandran, as well as to pass him his hypertension medication.

Dang Wangi military arch Zainuddin Ahmad was reported by Bernama as observant which Chandran died from heart disease in a Dang Wangi military hire lock-up upon Sept 10.
