'Many guards not paid RM700'


(NST) - Some private confidence companies in Peninsular Malaysia have allegedly unsuccessful to belong to a minimum income of RM700 for confidence guards, pronounced a National Peninsular Malaysia Security Guard Union.
Its general-secretary, M. Subramaniam, had called upon a government to demeanour in to such erring companies.
Under a brand brand new income scheme, that took effect at a end of January, a confidence guard's income should amount to RM1,200, together with overtime.
At present, their salaries have been between RM450 and RM750, depending upon their work locations.
"Many companies have been usually profitable RM550 as basic income for their confidence guards, whilst a change of RM150 is since as allowance."
He pronounced a companies that did not belong to a brand brand new income intrigue were mostly those not registered with a Home Ministry, or with guards association.
"Worse, many of a guards in use by these companies have been foreigners."
Subramaniam added that notwithstanding warnings from a Labour Department, there was no improvement.
The Labour Department could not be reached for comment.
