MCA president Chua Soi Lek said Penang's devise to implement the law to prevent state assemblypersons from defecting mid-term was the small broadside stunt.
He said DAP, that leads the Pakatan Rakyat administration in Penang, was good wakeful that such the law would be opposite the Federal Constitution that guarantees freedom of association.
"When yougoto the state assembly to amend the state constitution, they will lookgoodand get the lot of publicity, but they know it is opposite the Federal Constitution to shorten political freedom, it will beultra vires.
"So finish of the day it is just for show as well as they will censure the sovereign supervision when they cannot do it," he told the press discussion at Petaling Jaya today.
