Your Weekend Entertainment: Singing The Blues

We have wish in presenting to we Miss Billie Holiday as your entertainer for this weekend. After listening to these signature tunes by her, we will agree with us that Lady Day is the greatest female exponent of this All-American art form called the Blues. In this selection, she is accompanied by the little of the most appropriate jazz men of all times.

WikipediaBillie Holiday (born Eleanora Harris ( Apr 7, 1915 July 17, 1959) was an American jazz singer as well as songwriter. Nicknamed "Lady Day" by her crony as well as musical partner Lester Young, Holiday had the seminal influence on jazz as well as pop singing. Her outspoken style, strongly inspired by jazz instrumentalists, pioneered the new way of manipulating phrasing as well as tempo.

Critic John Bush wrote that Holiday "changed the art of American pop vocals forever." She co-wrote only the few songs, but several of them have turn jazz standards, notably "God Bless the Child", "Don't Explain", "Fine as well as Mellow", as well as! "Lady Sings the Blues". She also became important for singing "Easy Living", "Good Morning Heartache", as well as "Strange Fruit", the protest song that became a single of her standards as well as was made important with her 1939 recording.

Dr Kamsiah as well as we hope we suffer listening to this excellent as well as mellow voice who has turn the jazz fable with few equals. Dr. Kamsiah as well as Din Merican
