Suaram given seven days to submit documents to CCM


KUALA LUMPUR, July 6 Suara Inisiatif Sdn Bhd, a association allegedly linked to Suara Rakyat Malaysia (Suaram), has been given seven days to submit a relevant documents upon a association to a Companies Commission of Malaysia (CCM).
Domestic Trade, Cooperatives as well as Consumerism Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob pronounced a notice upon a directive was handed to a association secretary yesterday as well as also through registered mail under Section 7B (2) of a Companies Act 1965.
He pronounced a notice ordered Suara Inisiaif to hand over documents, together with those upon a formation of a association as well as monetary statements, to a CCM.
"Routine checks upon companies have been a normal use of a CCM. All companies, together with supervision as well as government-linked companies, have been subject to a Companies Act 1965."
He pronounced this currently when asked by reporters to comment upon a status of Suaram after opening a Franchise International Malaysia Exhibition 2012 (FIM2012) during a Putra World Trade Centre, here.
Ismail Sabri pronounced in 2011, 1.094 million slight checks were conducted upon companies.
"If a over a single million companies checked by a CCM have no complaint with it, what is Suaram's problem? Are they per themselves as untouchable? If they have nothing to hide, what's a complaint for Suaram to a border which they have been unhappy over a slight check?"
Last Sunday, Jaringan Melayu Malaysia (JMM) president Azwanddin Hamzah claimed which Suaram was not registered as a non-governmental organisation with a Registrar of Societies but as a company, Suara Inisiatif Sdn Bhd.
Azwanddin who checked with a CCM, claimed which a company's income stood during RM497,137 in 2009 as well as RM411,226 in 2010. Bernama
