WWW15 row: Transport minister speaks up


Transport Minister Kong Cho Har appeared to have landed the subtle jab upon his MCA co-worker Liow Tiong Lai, by implying which someone had lied over the latter's vanity series plate.

According toSin Chew Daily, Kong, whose portfolio includes the Road Transport Department, said

"What is critical is which everybody speaks the truth. If everybody does so, there would be no such problems," he was quoted as observant by the daily.

Kong pronounced everybody had the right to bid for the automobile series image of their preference though all the bidding procedures contingency be followed.

Liow has come under open scrutiny after it was found which he had won the RM24,000 bid for the WWW15 series plate.

At first, Liow wasunable to explainwho paid for the number. Fueling the debate further was the news reports upon the RTD denying which Liow can shun paying.

But eventually, Liow claimed which the RTD had issued him the series platefor free.

Meanwhile, MCA president Dr Chua Soi Lek publicly defended his right away barbarous 'left palm to right hand' remark, claiming which he was misunderstood.

He pronounced which it doesn't matter either the WWW15 series image was paid for by the illness ministry, which Liow leads, because the funds will finish up in the supervision combined account.

He pronounced which there was nothing wrong with his remarks and claims which his detractors don't assimilate the issue.
