Nearly RM60,000 was spent upon rip gas aimed during Bersih protesters this year.
KUALA LUMPUR: A sum of RM56,092.85 worth of rip gas was dismissed during protesters during a Apr 28 Bersih 3.0 rally.
In a written matter to Segambut MP (DAP) Lim Lip Eng, Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein pronounced that 909 rip fume shells (TSS) price RM47,677.05, whilst a 58 rip fume grenades (TSG) price RM8,415.80.
Broken down further, a TSS would price RM52.45 any whilst a TSG would price RM145.10 each.
The sum number was scarcely three times a amount spent to disperse protesters during a 2011 Bersih 2.0 rally, or RM22,885.76.
Back then, a TSS price RM79.76 whilst a TSG price RM145.10 each, with 226 as well as 36 shots dismissed respectively.
Last year's rip gas canisters were manufactured by a US-based ALS Technologies, a detail that was left out this year.
