KUALA LUMPUR, -- The People's Progressive Party (PPP) has received 'green light' to contest a chair in Melaka for a first time during a ubiquitous election.
Its boss Datuk M.Kayveas pronounced Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam and MCA boss Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek had agreed to palm Kota Laksamana state chair to PPP.
He pronounced MCA's decision to give up a chair showed Barisan Nasional (BN) unity where winnable possibilities from alternative member parties have been given a possibility to contest.
"This is a Barisan Nasional strategy. Previously, seats allotted to a celebration were frequency given to others though things have changed," he told reporters after chairing a PPP autarchic council assembly here today.
Betty Chew of DAP won Kota Laksamana with a majority of 3,642 votes during 2008 ubiquitous election, violence Lim Eng Teck of BN.
Kayveas pronounced a claimant for Kota Laksamana chair will be motionless by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
