TAR College To Be Upgraded To University College
KUALA LUMPUR, October 2 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak today pronounced he had no conflict to upgrading Tunku Abdul Rahman (TAR) College to university college status if it could fulfil a conditions set.
"On a MCA's wish, and if a conditions are met, there should be no obstacle to upgrading it to university college," he pronounced when opening a MCA's 58th annual ubiquitous assembly at Wisma MCA, here.
Earlier, in his policy speech, MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek pronounced MCA was arranging with a Higher Education Ministry to ascent TAR College to a university college.
Dr Chua pronounced TAR College would continue to contribute to producing well-trained professionals and alternative manpower for a country.
The MCA-owned college was determined upon Feb 24, 1969. It has six branches in a nation with 30,000 students, mostly receiving up diploma and certificate-level courses.
