NRD made Indian national a citizen using false SD

An Indian national performed Malaysian citizenship from a Sabah National Registration Department (NRD) by simply regulating a false orthodox declaration, a royal commission of inquiry (RCI) into Sabah immigrants was told today.

Nur Mohd Ibrahim, who hails from Tamil Nadu, India, pronounced he entered Sabah in 1981 as well as shortly after applied for a blue temperament label upon a urging of Filipino colleagues during a grill where he worked.

However, his first application regulating a false SD was rejected.

In 1983, he tried his luck again, regulating a same method, as well as was postulated a blue temperament label in 1987. This was merely six years after he had set feet upon Malaysian soil.

The SD settled which Nur Mohd was innate in Kinarut, Papar.

Nur Mohd told a RCI which he purebred as a voter in 1991 - eight years after he became citizen. According to him, he has voted 4 times in a state chair of Likas.

NONEIn 2001, a Election Court had ruled which former Sabah arch minister Yong Teck Lee's(left)victory in Likas nothing as well as blank due to a superiority of illegal immigrants upon a electoral roll.

Yong had won a chair during a Sabah 1999 state choosing as well as a results was challenged by dual defeated candidates.

Then High Court judge Muhammad Kamil Awang, who suggested he was pressured by his superiors to boot a application, pronounced in his judgment: "The instances of non-citizens as well as phantom electorate in a electoral hurl ! as discl osed in this hearing might be a tip of a iceberg.

"It could not be denied which a registration of electorate in a Likas electoral hurl was in transgression of a law. No one including a government department is on top of a law."

'Sabah arch minister is ... Mahathir'

Nur Mohd pronounced a SD he used had been drafted by a commissioner of oaths in Kepayan as well as his Filipino friends taught him to list a place in Sabah as a his birth place.

"Even though we got my blue temperament card, we was scared to use it because we was not certain if it was current or not until we purebred as a voter in 1991," he said.

Queried by conducting military officer Jamil Aripin if he knew this was tantamount to cheating a NRD, Nur Mohd remained silent.

He afterwards proceeded to exam a witness' knowledge of Malaysia, as well as Nur Mohd managed to name a 3 many new prime ministers but trouble.

NONEHowever, when asked who a arch minister of Sabah is, he replied: "Mahathir" before withdrawing his matter as he invited giggles around a room.

It is unclear if Nur Mohd's temperament label was part of any illegal operation but a NRD manners were loose in a 1980s to accept SDs as marker papers in applications for blue temperament cards.

This order was abolished in 1987, as well as since then, only birth certificates have been accepted. Read More @ Source
