UPKO only considered quitting BN, says Dompok


PENAMPANG, Nov 4 United Pasokmomogun Kadazandusun Murut Organisation (UPKO) boss Tan Sri Bernard Dompok has denied claims by former UPKO deputy boss Datuk Seri Wilfred Bumburing which the celebration was upon the verge of leaving the Barisan Nasional (BN).
He confirmed which UPKO's autarchic legislature had discussed the matter though the celebration motionless to stay put in BN.
"There were people who longed for to talk about these things, so we put it to the Supreme Council, (and) the autarchic legislature deliberated.
"The majority voice was for us to go along with the BN, because of what the BN has been doing, in as far as the RCI (Royal Commission of Inquiry upon bootleg immigrants in Sabah) as well as all those things.
"So, I can confirm which it was discussed though the celebration motionless not to go along those lines," he told reporters after opening the Penampang UPKO gathering here today.
