Arrested youths family fear Johor palace interference, urge cops to help

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 4 The family members of Ahmad Abd Jalil, who was arrested upon Friday for scornful the Johor Sultan, is pleading with the military not to assent the house authorities to transport the youth to the royal house for an apology.
The family, responding to talks that Ahmad may be brought privately prior to the Sultan to apologize for his remarks, voiced fright today over the reserve of the 27-year-old if he were to be taken to the palace.
According to an SMS from Ahmad's sister to one of the family's counsel late last night, the military had told her mom that, "if the house calls, they (the police) would be forced to move Ahmad to face the Sultan".
"If they want my son to apologise, move him to court. Once he enters someone else's territory, anything can happen as well as you wouldn't know who to blame," Ahmad's father Abd Jalil Abd Rahman toldThe Malaysian Insidertoday.
"Everyone has to respect the due process of the law. And if they want to take my son to justice to extract an apology, then so be it.
"Do not force him in to house custody where you have no carry out over. We are Penangites. We are not used to carrying the Sultan as well as you have listened most abhorrence stories. This is our right," he added.
The 60-year-old former government servant pronounced the military have so distant refused all attempts by his family to revisit Ahmad, who was arrested in Kuala Lumpur during 8pm upon Friday as well as eliminated in to the Johor military custody the same night.
As during noon today, Abd Jalil pronounced he will be meeting with the investigating officer in Ahmad's case.

Ahmad is being investigated underneath Section 4(1) of the Sedition Act 1948, believed to be over allegedly factious remarks he had done opposite the Johor Sultan upon his Facebook page.
He was picked up from his bureau during around 8pm in Cheras yesterday by several plainclothes policemen prior to he was brought to the Wangsa Maju military station for questioning.
According to Ahmad's counsel Mohd Zakwan Adenan yesterday, the youth was during initial not sensitive of his offence, solely that he was allegedly being investigated underneath the Sedition Act 1948.
"They pronounced they wanted to charge him underneath the Sedition Act for remarks he done upon Facebook though when you asked the military that statement they were referring to, they could not answer," he said.
Section 4(1) stipulates that any person who utters, prints or publishes any factious words, upon conviction, would be probable for the initial corruption to the fine not surpassing RM5,000 or to imprisonment for the tenure not surpassing 3 years or to both.
After interrogating him for several hours during the Wangsa Maju military station yesterday, the military raided Ahmad's parents' house in Damansara Damai prior to taking the youth with them to Johor.
At 3pm ! yesterda y, Ahmad was taken prior to the Johor court by the military to acquire the three-day remand order.
