Photo doctored, Bernama looks at possible 'sabotage'


National news agencyBernamahas certified which it has published the "flawed" sketch depicting Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak in Pekan, Pahang last Saturday.

Late this evening,Bernamareleased an essay quoting editor-in-chief Yong Soo Heong stating which primary investigations showed which the sketch could have been manipulated during the point of origin.

"Initial checks revealed which the injured picture was detected during the source from where it was sent," he said.

NONEYong pronounced which further investigations will look during possible motives as well as whether there could be possible elements of sabotage.

"We have been observation this matter severely as well as will not demur to take suitable movement opposite those responsible for the irregularities.

"Bernamaalways strives to say tall standards of professionalism as well as takes the critical perspective of workplace integrity," he stressed.

The sketch was published byNSTon Sunday, depicting Najib being mobbed by the throng in his subdivision of Pekan.

Soon after, netizens forked out which the sketch had been manipulated to etch the larger crowd.

NONEInitially, netizensassumedthat the sketch belonged toNST. After briefly removing the sketch from the website,NSTre-uploaded it with detrimental toBernama.

By then, the same sketch onBernama'ssample page was already removed.

This was the second incident in as many weeks where the firmness ofBernama'sphotograph had been questioned by netizens.

The first incident concerned the identical throng sketch taken during Najib's open house event over the Aidilfitri weekend.Bernamahasdenied any manipulationin the photograph.
