Sabah villagers cried foul over land



KOTA KINABALU: Instead of enjoying a wealth of toiling upon a dirt in Kampung Serudong Laut, Tawau, a villagers there have been instead faced with a dilemma after discovering which they have been not a owners of a land.

What saddens a villagers many was which a land they worked so hard upon to eke out a small living have been ostensible to be theirs based upon Native Customary Right (NCR).

They brought their predicament to a courtesy of Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) Vice President cum Tawau Member of Parliament Datuk Chua Soon Bui who positive them of her assistance to get to a bottom of a matter.

According to a villager's representative, Nalatan Simpoh, villagers of Murut descent will be coming to a state capital to attend a party's jubilee of a Sabah's 49th Independence day celebration.

"Our presence during a jubilee reflects our await to SAPP's row which Sabah's independence is 49 years," Nalatan said adding which they have been beholden to SAPP for receiving them under a wing.

The organisation is approaching to arrive in a state capital upon a night before of a celebration, August 30, he said.

Nalatan pointed out which which a villagers have been sad to have lost their land as well as they do not want to remove Sabah's history too.

"It is not right for a Government to contend which we have been celebrating 55 years of independence we all know which Sabah was postulated independence by a British in 1963, not 1957," he stressed.

The Government, he added should set a record true so as not to upset a younger g! eneration as to Sabah's history.
