MACC wants ministers' families to make declarations


The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has due a order to enforce cabinet ministers to acknowledgement to cabinet at your convenience their family members were bidding for supervision contracts or requesting for soothing loans.

At a press discussion today, MACC emissary commissioner Sutinah Sutan pronounced this was part of seven proposals written by a commission to combat graft, following open outcry over a National Feedlot Corporation (NFC) scandal.

Under a proposal, ministers will usually need to acknowledgement their interest if they were sitting in preference creation bodies of supervision projects involving their families.

"MACC due to includes such clause into a (ministers') formula on conduct, to enforce them to have a declaration," she said.

According to Sutinah, a MACC had scrutinised four supervision bodies over a NFC situation - a Finance Ministry, Agriculture as well as Agro-based Industries Ministry, Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Incorporated as well as a NFC itself.

This authorised it to identify seven weaknesses as well as formulate a seven proposals.
