The Election Commission (EC) chief Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusof as well as his deputy Wan Ahmad Wan Omar should have disclosed their links to Umno prior to being appointed to a eccentric body, pronounced Bersih.
"It is very critical as well as this shows partisanship.
"(Even) only a non-disclosure which they are party members is a (problem)," pronounced Bersih chief S Ambiga at a press conference in Kuala Lumpur today.
Asked to reply to Wan Ahmad's statement which he is a "public servant" as well as "still is one" despite have been exposed to be a Umno member, Ambiga pronounced this is indicative of a EC's partisan position which is discordant to its formation as "an eccentric body, underneath a constitution".
"It was a Freudian slip. He (Wan Ahmad) was revelation a truth. That is a core of the issue with a EC. They are supposed to be independent," she lamented.
