MB: Direct tenders down 98.8% under Pakatan



Selangor awarded RM4.8 million value of contracts by approach negotiation in 2011 which is the 98.8 percent rebate compared to the rise in 2007, when BN administered the state.

According to documents expelled by Selangor Menteri Besar Khalid Ibrahim today, the sum of 87 contracts but open tenders were awarded in 2007, value RM396.4 million.

He said 2007 - right prior to the election year - available the top ever sum stipulate value by negotiated proposal being awarded by the state.

Prior to this, the second top volume available was in 2005, where 31 without delay negotiated contracts value RM190.7 million were awarded as well as 66 contracts value RM171.9 million in 2006.

Khalid forked out which this volume was marked down after Pakatan Rakyat took over the state in 2008.

He suggested which in 2008, 60 without delay negotiated contracts were expelled value RM60 million; in 2009, there were 64 contracts value RM24 million; in 2010, there were twenty-three contracts value RM27.1 million.
Gradual phasing out
Khalid expelled the figures currently in response to fugitive blogger Raja Petra Kamaruddin's new article, where he claimed which Pakatan-held Selangor supervision had dished out more than RM250 million in contracts but open tenders.

Khalid said which while the state supervision cannot rught away eliminate the use of without delay negotiated contracts, it is working to progressively proviso it out.

He stressed which such the use would usually be carried out underneath surprising circumstances.

"For example, you need approach negotiated contracts for emergencies such as floods or landslisdes. In this situation, you cannot wait for for dual or 3 months to have open tender.

"We will select from the most qualified contractor for the project," he said at the press conference after the Selangor state public! sitting .
