We refer to press reports where a counsel for a Defendant in a box of Hong Leong vs Low Thiam Hoe, counsel D. Paralingam had indicted Anwar Ibrahim of purportedly refusing to accept a justice order served upon him upon 28th March 2012.The justice order is to compel Anwar to assist a justice in a legal case against Hong Leong Finance Berhad, filed in 1998.
Contempt of Parlaiment
We have been shocked during a stupidity displayed by a counsel upon simple as well as elemental Parliamentary rules as well as privileges i.e. no justice order nor justice processes can be influenced upon any Members of Parliament in a premises of a Parliament. The lawyer's movement to serve a justice order during a Parliament premises was a wrongful act as well as might invite disregard of Parliamentary proceedings.
Anwar Ibrahim has no conflict to receiving a pronounced justice order as well as is eveready to appear in justice if its relevant, required as well as not an abuse of a justice process. Anwar's lawyers would similar to to suggest D Paralingam that there have been proper etiquette to serve a justice order upon a Member of Parliament, what some-more a Opposition Leader. D.
