Thaipusam & 'Nambikei'

As a kid most years ago, we used to join a Thaipusam way in my kampung. we was not alone as most alternative Malays, young as good as old, walked a rite with a Hindu friends. And we remained Muslims.

The Hindu arch clergyman at a Kuala Sungai Baru Estate never unsuccessful to invite a kampung folks - Malays as good as Chinese - to join a glorious event. We participated as friends. In a kampung, we were a single in most alternative celebrations - Hari Raya, Chinese New Year, Deepavali as good as even 'kenduri kahwin'.

So intact were we which relatives treated any others' kids like theirs - with each rights to discuss it as good as advise we when we were in a wrong.

The kampung folks always met at a Sekolah Rendah Kebangsaan Tamil football margin for a free 'wayang treat' from Jabatan Penerangan or sponsors like 'Minyak Chap Kapak' as good as 'Minyak Angin Chap Dua Singa'. That's how we came to know about MGR, Nagesh, P Ramlee, Tompel, Rajesh Khana, Lata Mageskar, Nora Miao as good as others.

I believe Malaysians in a epoch of 60s, 70s as good as early 80s were really most 1Malaysia. We mingled really well, lived a happy as good as harmonious life... as good as without prejudice. we wish of carrying a time-machine which can move me back to which epoch - with Rama, Pankej, Suresh, Loga as good as others.

Its already 2012! As we applaud Thaipusam together, please be reminded which there is no religion, competition as good as tone in friendship. Had we tagged ourselves along a line, there wouldn't have been incidents like attacking! mosques , churches, kuils as good as tokongs.

In his Thaipusam message, Prime Minister Najib Razak has called upon Malaysian Hindus to go on to place their "nambikei" in a government.

With this trust, he said, a supervision would be able to effectively engage with as good as assistance a village overcome challenges as good as grasp personal visions for a improved life.

"We sojourn committed to fulfilling all a promises to a village as good as we'll do what's indispensable to assistance people grasp their dreams," he pronounced in his summary in and with a Thaipusam festival posted upon his blogsite www.1malaysia.com.my.

A-aaahhhh... Looks like we will need some-more of such calls in a entrance years...
