CT Ali upon Transformation, Reformation as good as Deformation

Najib Tun Razak reminds me of the little child who wants to be liked as good as does all he can to greatfully everyone. He is for 1Malaysia. He is for Ketuanan Melayu. And he insists, without showing how, which the dual have been compatible. In the process, he offends as good as antagonises both the Malays as good as non-Malays.

He has seen it fit to embark upon the zealous path of transforming as good as reforming, roving his high equine similar to the apostolic avenger hell focussed upon eliminating any restriction upon the polite liberties as good as any barrier which will forestall the people from building their minds. Or so it seems. He would similar to us all to believe which he during final has listened what the rakyat wants as good as right away wants to do their bidding.

Suddenly, in 2011, the students have spin grown up as good as responsible sufficient to dally in politics. Suddenly, the ISA is no longer compulsory as good as the PPPA is an archaism from the dim age.

He runs full lean in to this reforming fervour without bargain which one's enemy infrequently gives the single sufficient wire to hang oneself. Amazingly, he assumingly cannot discuss it which he has already taken sufficient rope.

He speaks of transforming as good as reforming, yet he in actuality deforms. The Peaceful Assembly Bill is the case in point. If he had taken the bid to work out what the rakyat unequivocally want, then he would ha! ve spare d himself the insult of being told which his proposal is more draconian than what Myanmar is doing. In fact, Myanmar is critical about the approved reform.

So what does he do now? He was already basking in the glory of announcing the bill, with grand assurances of grand intentions. Now he realises which it is easy to announce initiatives yet tough to have them happen.

So he tweaks them, similar to the single would tweak the carburetor of the car. But the final such automobile stopped production in the early 1990s. And this is the complaint with Najib. He thinks of the 1990s when people have been already in the 21st century. The ISA, PPPA as good as the law which violated the right to arrange should have been jettisoned good prior to the spin of the century.

So Najib is playing catch up. But will UMNO let him? What you would similar to to know is who advises Najib? Who looks during the pros as good as cons of introducing the Peaceful Assembly Bill as good as all the other initiatives he has voiced since receiving office in April, 2009?

I do not need Lim Kit Siang or Anwar to discuss it me which these have been not unequivocally initiatives, yet simply Najib playing to the art studio of voters. There is no need for the justice challenge or the travel by the organisation of lawyers to discuss it me which the Peaceful Assembly Bill is another the single of those poorly configured moves which have been heavy upon PR as good as zilch upon substance.

Living the moment

Doesn't anybody discuss it Najib which he is making of himself demeanour ridiculous when he replaces the draconian legislation with another draconian one? you would have thought which during least Idris Jala would have put his hands up as good as say, "Excuse me Datuk Seri, yet you think you need to go by which PA Bill again." Or is he as well bustling plugging up leaks?

Najib seems oblivious to what is function around him because he lives with the moment. He does not as! similate which he cannot be all things to all people. And you cannot greatfully everybody. A personality does what is right as good as does it right. He leads with resolve as good as never vacillates.

Najib has the blog. you have the single too, as good as you know the volume of work compulsory to have it applicable as good as interesting to people who you hope will review what you write. How most time does Najib outlay upon his blog? you think not sufficient to write even the single article the week. And he says he talks to us by his blog. He even sends me emails to surprise me about what is function upon his blog.

Should you be beholden for this or should you see it for what it unequivocally is: the poor shot during "connecting" with us bloggers as good as the rest of the Internet community. It insults my intelligence. It is nonetheless another try by the Najib to seen as Mr Cool, as good as you am certain it costs the rakyat money. No, you have been not cool, Mr Prime Minister. You have been wasting the time as good as the income for no benefit to you or to us.

Najib is caught up in lies of his own making. He pretends to be the blogger when he patently is not. He creates himself believe which he is connecting with the young when what he is he truly you do is behaving out the instructions of his PR people.

Now this is what unequivocally worries me. If what you see have been the most appropriate of Najib's efforts after all, you contingency put brazen your most appropriate bid for public consumptionwhat happens in the Cabinet? Do they take common shortcoming for stupidity?

All this depresses me. A Prime Minister similar to Najib depresses because it says most for what you have become. Are you in actuality the republic rebuilt to accept the Prime Minister as tasteless as an unsweetened tofufa?

Like Pak Lah, Najib is no orator, yet he tries. Like Pak Lah, Najib allows the interests of family as good as cronies to override those of the republic he governs. But Pak Lah was ! never te mpted to reason onto to being budding minister any longer then what he perceived was his time to serve. Leaving Putrajaya was easy for Pak Lah. It will not be so for Najib.

The Pak Lah lesson

Putrajaya is the refuge for Najib from his past follies. He needs Putrajaya as good as which is because he does what he does. He contingency remain in Seri Perdana. If it requires him to jump over the light fandango, he will do so.

Meanwhile, he nervously awaits the 13th General Election. He is not shaken not for the predestine of UMNO or Barisan Nasional, yet for what it will move him once the lady sings. Can you recollect Najib nervously wiping his perspiring face whilst making his RM$ 5 million suggest to the people of Sibu to vote for BN not as well prolonged ago?

Well, he is sweating buckets during the thought of the ubiquitous choosing because he knows he goes in to conflict with Pakatan Rakyat, corroborated by an UMNO which will usually be as well pleased to see him fall. UMNO is not inclined to forgive of leaders who cannot broach what they need to go on having their way with the country. Ask Pak Lah.

CT Ali is the FMT columnist as good as blogger.
