Angkatan Belia Islam Malaysia Angkatan Belia Islam Malaysia (ABIM) telah ditubuhkan pada 6 Ogos 1971 di Fakulti Pengajian Islam, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) hasil beberapa pertemuan generasi pengasas ketika itu. Pengerusi penaja rasmi ketika itu ialah Ustaz Abdul Wahab Zakaria dan Fauzi Abd. Rahman (sekarang Dato') sebagai Setiausaha Agung. ABIM merupakan sebuah badan bukan k! erajaan Islam yang berdaftar dengan Pendaftar Pertubuhan pada seventeen Ogos 1972 di bawah Akta Pertubuhan 1966. Muktamar ABIM yang pertama telah diadakan pada tahun 1972 di mana Ustaz Razali Nawawi (sekarang Profesor Dr) telah dipilih sebagai Presiden ABIM yang pertama manakala Anwar Ibrahim (sekarang Dato' Seri) dipilih sebagai Setiausaha Agung. Pada tahun 1974 Anwar Ibrahim telah dilantik sebagai Presiden ABIM yang kedua. Ustaz Siddiq Fadzil (sekarang Dato' Dr) pula telah dilantik untuk memangku dan seterusnya menjadi Presiden ABIM selepas penyertaan Anwar Ibrahim ke dalam UMNO pada tahun 1982. Ustaz Muhammad Nur Manuty (sekarang Dr) telah dilantik sebagai Presiden pada tahun 1991. Pada September 1997, Ahmad Azam Abdul Rahman telah dipilih sebagai Presiden ABIM yang kelima di Muktamar Sanawi ABIM ke-26 di Alor Setar, Kedah. Pada Ogos 2005 pula, saudara Yusri Mohamad dipilih sebagai Presiden ABIM yang keenam di Muktamar Sanawi ABIM ke-34.
