Nazri: Up to judiciary to take action on 'plagiarist judge'

Minister in a Prime Minister's Department Mohd Nazri Abdul Aziz has sidestepped a emanate of a purported plagiarist judge, observant it is up to a law to take action.

Nazri, who is a de facto Law Minister, was asked why no movement had been taken upon a decider who right away sits upon a Court of Appeal although a emanate was brought up in 2000 and his prototype Rais Yatim knew about it.

"We (the executive) cannot meddle in an additional branch of a government, namely a judiciary. Although a box was brought up, we cannot meddle as this could be interpreted as division by a executive," he said.

NONE"You should ask a law about this," he said.

When asked who is a rightful person, Nazri (right) pronounced it is a chief justice.

He told this to reporters after giving his keynote address during a Public Event to Promote a Abolition of a Death Penalty in Malaysia.

The censure was first done by a Singapore Chief Justice to a then-Chief Justice Eusoff Chin.

Subsequently, M! alaysia has had four alternative chief justices, namely Dzaiddin Abdullah, Ahmad Fairuz Sheikh Abdul Halim, Abdul Hamid Mohamad and Zaki Azmi.

The box of a plagiarist decider was regenerated when comparison counsel Karpal Singh brought a motion in parliament which was upheld by close to 60 Pakatan Rakyat MPs for a formation of a judiciary opposite a judge.

The identity of a judge, which has been left out by a media final week, was eventually published by Malaysiakini yesterday when Karpal appeared before a purported plagiarist, decider Abdul Malik Ishak, asking for his recusal to listen to! an appe al in a drug case.

Former Singapore decider GP Selvam has brought up a emanate when he purported which his judgment had been plagiarised in a copyright make a difference and a Malaysian decider had backdated his judgment as if to simulate it was his.

The status of Karpal's motion is uncertain as a Dewan Rakyat speaker has yet to confirm upon a matter.

If it is allowed, it remains uncertain whether it would be tabled at this parliament event or a subsequent session.
