Chua: Gutter politics the norm now - AsiaOne

KUALA LUMPUR - Politicians from both sides of the divide have been guilty of practising gutter governing body since the 2008 ubiquitous election, said MCA boss Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek.

"Nobody can claim the dignified tall ground. They (Pakatan Rakyat) usually mount upon dignified tall ground when they are affected," he told reporters after attending the 3rd World Chinese Economic Forum signing rite here yesterday.

He said since the 2008 ubiquitous election, there had been the lot of arguments not upon policies but personal attacks, adding which most issues were politicised.

He denied which "gutter politics" were strategy usually used by Umno as well as MCA politicians, adding: "This is something which politicians from both sides do."

Dr Chua was commenting upon Pakatan's have the difference which leaders from Barisan Nasional were practising "gutter politics" when they done allegations against Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng's son.

Pakatan leaders had voiced outrage as well as condemned the allegations circulating upon the Internet which the boy was eliminated out of his propagandize following an offence, which Lim called "barbaric lies".

On another matter, Dr Chua said as the party leader, he could have his own preference upon either to competition in the ubiquitous choosing as well as where to mount as the candidate.

"I can have my preference as well as we do not need DAP to ! learn me or challenge me.

"When the time is right, we will have the decision," he said when asked toon DAP challenging him to competition in the DAP stronghold.
